We've reached the 50% completion milestone on the Mary Bridge Children's Hospital campus in #Tacoma!   Together with Abbott Construction, we're building this dedicated, 250,000 SF pediatric facility that will serve over 100,000 children annually. The standalone hospital will feature specialized pediatric services, including urgent care, a surgical center, and imaging center—all under one roof. Reposting with pride! Loved hosting and participating in the 2024 STOBG Women in Construction Summit in Salt Lake City! Although I was sad to miss part of the event, the time I was there was filled with incredible energy, valuable takeaways, and meaningful community impact. It was especially great to bring this event to Utah and spotlight Layton Construction presence in Salt Lake City, where we have more than 100 women on our team. Many local women from the team had the opportunity to contribute, engaging in impactful discussions and sharing their expertise. As a company, we are proud to be above the industry average in women’s representation and diversity, and it was wonderful to showcase that in this location. Planning and participating in this event alongside rockstar STOBG women from across the nation was a true highlight, and I loved having them in town. A standout moment was coming together to give back—within just 30 minutes, we assembled over 1,000 packs for young girls, which will be distributed to local teen centers through The Policy Project I’m grateful to work for a company where executives and leaders truly embody what it means to advance by saying “YES,” taking initiative, and doing more than what’s asked. Dave Layton’s words were a reminder that these qualities lead to growth and promotion, with leaders stepping up, leaning in, and opening doors—bringing others along with them. This message was further reinforced during the leadership breakfast, where participants engaged in discussions with executives on leadership and industry growth. Layton team members—both amazing men and women—also led insightful sessions like “Anatomy of a Project” and “Foundations of Success.” Our STO Building Group and Layton Construction leaders lean and bring those with them! And it’s packed with some seriously cool facts: 🧊 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙚: A 130,000 SF "box-in-a-box" freezer with potential to expand to 180,000 SF. 🧊 𝙀𝙘𝙤-𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜: CO2 refrigeration system boasting a mere 1 Global Warming Potential (GWP). 🧊 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: A clever VNA (very narrow racking) system shrinks freezer footprint from 160,000 SF to 120,000 SF. 🧊 𝙍𝙖𝙥𝙞𝙙 𝙀𝙭𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: 60 acres transformed into an advanced, 820,000 SF facility in a mere 12.5 months. 🧊 𝙒𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙢: Conquered unprecedented weather and still hitting our completion date!
