We are excited to see Palvella Therapeutics continued progress to advance QTORIN™, a potential treatment for microcystic lymphatic malformations, a rare and chronically debilitating genetic disease.   The #FDA Office of Orphan Products Development awards grants annually to support the development of safe and effective medical products to address unmet medical needs for patients with rare diseases or conditions. Another step forward for our longtime partner Travere Therapeutics. Yesterday Travere received full FDA approval for FILSPARI® (sparsentan), the only oral, once-daily, non-immunosuppressive medication for the treatment of IgA nephropathy, a rare progressive kidney disease that is estimated to affect up to 150,000 people in the U.S. FILSPARI was granted accelerated approval by the FDA in February 2023 based on the surrogate marker of proteinuria and conditional marketing authorization from the European Commission in April 2024. This marks the third FDA approval within our royalty portfolio in the past few months and the ninth regulatory approval since 2023. We are pleased to share that our partner Verona Pharma has officially launched Ohtuvayre (ensifentrine), the first inhaled product with a novel mechanism of action available for the maintenance treatment of COPD in adult patients in more than 20 years. Ohtuvayre was approved by the FDA at the end of June and is one of our most recent pipeline wins. Ligand has earned a $13.8 million milestone payment upon launch and is entitled to a royalty of just under 3% on worldwide net sales. Read the news ⬇

This transaction will advance several key milestones for Palvella into the second half of 2027 including the company’s pivotal Phase 3 trial of QTORIN™ rapamycin for the treatment of microcystic lymphatic malformations that is being conducted under the FDA’s Breakthrough Therapy Designation and Fast Track Designation programs.
