Lynker has won a five-year, $125 million ProTech Oceans task order from NOAA’s National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) to provide a broad range of technical services supporting the operation and maintenance of the world’s largest maritime observing network, which provides essential information to support the protection of life and property. “We look forward to providing end-to-end services and growing this critical national observing capability, which is at the core of NDBC’s mission to protect lives, ensure maritime safety, and enhance coastal economies,” said Joe Linza, Lynker Founder and CEO. Lynker and its team members—ECS, SoFar Ocean, and GDIT—have decades of experience supporting NOAA. The Lynker-led team will ensure uninterrupted delivery of high-quality data from NDBC’s observing network; assemble and repair environmental data platforms and networks; test and transition new technology; and ensure facility safety and environmental compliance. We honor Lynker President, Scott Rayder's, six years of outstanding leadership as chair to the U.S. IOOS Advisory Committee. This week, the U.S. IOOS Advisory Committee, which provides advice to NOAA Administrator and the Interagency Ocean Observation Committee (IOOC), meets in Washington D.C. to welcome new members and thank those departing after six years of service. Under Scott's chairmanship, the committee has made 51 impactful recommendations on DEIA, climate, marine life, the IOOS budget, the ocean enterprise, the new blue economy and more. John McCombs, from Lynker's NOAA Office for Coastal Management team, presented at the National Association of Wetland Managers Annual Meeting in Shepherdstown, WV recently. He shared insights on NOAA's Coastal Change Analysis Program (C-CAP) and the nationwide high-resolution (1m) land cover product. The event, attended by over 150 leaders in wetland management, sparked interest in C-CAP data for floodplain management, land use planning, and climate adaptation. Exciting developments ahead!  Photo Credit: NAWM #WetlandManagement #CCAP #CoastalManagement #wetlands #floodplain #LandUse #ClimateAdaptation

    Uncrewed Systems Program Manager

I would like to welcome the newest team member to the developing Lynker Uncrewed Systems Program, Will Sautter. Will Sautter has been mapping the seafloor from Alaska to Puerto Rico for over fifteen years. He specializes in multibeam sonars and side scan sonars which he has used in the past to map deep sea coral reefs, locate lost shipwrecks, and plan for offshore wind farms. As a marine scientist, he became an expert in analyzing multibeam backscatter data and has presented and published research on sediment distribution and benthic habitat mapping while he worked with the National Center for Coastal Ocean Science. His field work has utilized everything from satellite imagery to ROV and UUV systems. We're very excited to have him on board in support of Uncrewed Systems Operations!
