Last week, we embarked on an incredible journey with our 8-11-year-old tech engineers from the Boston area. Our 4-day AI and computer coding pilot was filled with wonder and discovery. BYTE Ventures inc (Bright Young Tech Engineers) is on mission to bridge the digital divide in marginalized communities where access to STEM education is unattainable and unaffordable. Our young innovators amazed us with their creativity, problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm for music, art and technology.  Huge gratitude to our head educator, Rocklyn Clarke and assistant Aryana Blake for their dedication and passion in guiding our young learners through this amazing experience! We are proud to announce the nine community organizations selected for the Youth Leaders for Mental and Behavioral Health grant. 👏 Through Boston Children’s Collaboration of Community Health, these youth-led and designed projects will receive funding to continue their mission to address the mental and behavioral concerns of young people within our community. “Both clinical and non-clinical services are required to address the current youth mental health crisis,” says Shari Nethersole, MD, Vice President for Community Health and Engagement at Boston Children’s. “Boston Children’s recognizes the importance of partnering with community organizations to support young people in holistic ways. As part of her Mixed-Income and Affordable Housing Policy & Finance course at MIT, CEO of Madison Park Development Corporation Leslie Reid invited Studio Luz Principal + Co-Founder Hansy Better Barraza to critique student submissions to FHLBank Boston’s Affordable Housing Development Competition, which serves as a valuable platform for the next generation of affordable housing development professionals to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world projects. We believe in the importance of engaging in discourse by visiting schools that are doing work that we align with, so we were excited to have Hansy take her work from the field to the classroom and guide students with her learned knowledge.
