Tomorrow (February 5) - join Early Childhood Funders Collaborative, The Care for All with Respect and Equity (CARE) Fund, Economic Opportunity Funders, and more for this timely conversation. Register: https://lnkd.in/gS6ZtJe6
The new Administration and Congress are pushing for massive tax cuts that would leave working families, women, children, older adults, and people with disabilities at risk; disproportionately benefiting the wealthy. Proposals to fund these tax cuts include devastating cuts to critical programs like Medicaid, Head Start, food and housing assistance, and more. These cuts threaten the health, income security, and future investments in care systems that millions rely on. We invite funders to join ECFC, The Care for All with Respect and Equity (CARE) Fund, Economic Opportunity Funders, and our co-sponsoring philanthropic partners for a webinar discussing the far-reaching impact of these tax cuts and how the care movement is organizing to resist.

Last week, the #MAECFC held its first meeting of 2025, hearing from representatives of three organizations leading the way in supporting our family childcare providers. Thank you to these stars for sharing your programs and initiatives with us: 🌠 Mayra Rosado-Torres and Laura Perille from Nurtury Early Education shared about their family childcare (FCC) incubator - including a toolkit they are hoping to release to the field for anyone looking to replicate the model, 🌠Leslie Baker from Family Services of Central MA (Seven Hills Foundation) talked about the need for a systems navigator, including helping to building relationships between landlords and prospective FCC educators, and developing a workforce development pathway, in collaboration with 🌠 Liz Sheehan Castro from SEIU Education & Support Fund, who, in addition to partnering on the pathway, discussed centering providers in their work, the need for mentorship, and supporting providers in their leadership journey, including to train other providers. They also provided this fantastic "I AM" framework slide. 🏘️ Everyone also shared about the critical need for housing - family childcare providers operate their businesses out of their homes. As our housing and affordability crisis deepens, so do the impacts upon our FCC providers. 🚀 Interested in supporting these issues? Join with the Massachusetts Early Childhood Funder Collaborative (#MAECFC) as we take our learning from the family childcare space and move to action. #housingaffordability #housing #earlyeducation #mapoli #philanthropy #familychildcare #workforcedevelopment
