This month we'd love to highlight #VolunteerOpportunities in the Martha O'Bryan Center #FoodBank. We always need extra hands to help us serve between 80-120 clients a day. Volunteers can expect to unload delivery trucks on Monday and Thursday morning, stock shelves with new products, help our clients 'shop' through our Food Bank and, of course, making Meals on Wheels boxes. To sign up, check us out on Hands On Nashville!

#MarthaOBryanCenter would like to thank our wonderful volunteers from Amazon for assisting with our Community Health Fair and event celebrating mothers and young families. We appreciate your time and efforts as you supported our mission (and kept careful watch of the kiddos as moms had a well-deserved self care session!) Hope to see y'all again soon! #Amazon #GMB2024 #AmazonGMB #globalmonthofvolunteering #amazongives

The Martha O’Bryan Center Family Success Network would like to thank the four organizations who came and participated in our Men's Panel, which was brought together to give fathers, boyfriends, and significant others an opportunity to share their perspectives of what being a father is like. Mr. Jones from Father2Father shared with the men the importance of having a dream. His organization helps men realize, pursue, and achieve their dreams. Mr. Davis, the founder of Black Men 2 Event, has a father and son podcast. They cover many topics that are sometimes taboo to talk about in the Black community. They covered topics such as mental health, and financial responsibility. Ron Sydney from My Father's House shared and incredible testimony. He spoke about how you can overcome prison life to living your best life. He is a living testament of what walking in purpose looks like. He also demonstrates the power of perseverance. MOBC's own Milton Thomas was our last speaker. Milton is the poster child for single fathers. Milton has raised four daughters and one son on his own. His oldest son and daughter attend the University of Memphis. His son is a senior, and his daughter is a sophomore. Milton's youngest daughter just received a full basketball scholarship. She will be attending Garden City Community College in Garden City Kansas. Presiding over the panel as emcee was our own Family-Centered Coach, Elliott Huff, who offered his own testimony at the beginning and end of the program and whose words were used to describe the program above. Afterwards, he also allowed for audience members to talk about their struggles and obstacles that they are facing trying to be a good father. Every man that spoke shared valuable, and inspiring information. Martha O'Bryan Center cannot thank each participant enough for sharing their time, wisdom, and resources.
