🌟 Honoring the Impact of Social Workers 🌟 Social work is more than just a profession—it’s a calling. Patricia's inspiring journey is a testament to the power of commitment, advocacy, and growth. 💬 What inspires you to help others? Drop a comment below and share how you make a difference in your community! ⬇️ [Alternative Text] "I first arrived at college in 1989 intending to become an attorney focused on environmental protection. However, after exploring sociology and history, I became deeply aware of the inequalities shaping our society—and discovered my passion for confronting them. This drive to help people and champion change led me to Masada in January 1993. I began in clerical support for our Foster Family Agency, then seized the chance to take on new responsibilities. With help from a Masada scholarship (now known as the George K. Igi Scholarship Program), I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from California State University, Long Beach—a turning point that deepened my commitment to broader-scale social work, focusing on policy, funding, and better access to care." Was there a moment in your career that stood out to you? “Attending a Masada High School graduation for our justice-involved clients was a pivotal moment that reaffirmed my commitment to social work. Seeing the young men dressed in their formal attire, brimming with hope and pride, was incredibly moving. Their transformation reflected the hard work they invested in personal growth and education, despite challenging circumstances. I’ll never forget the overwhelming sense of accomplishment that filled the room as they each received their diplomas. Equally rewarding are the moments when former clients return to Masada, eager to share updates about their lives and newfound success. Witnessing these moments fuels my passion to guide, advocate, and empower individuals—and reminds me why I chose this path: to help others realize their full potential.” #SocialWork #SocialWorkers #SWMonth2025 #SocialWorkMonth #CompassionInAction #MasadaProud #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthMatters #SocialWorkJourney #Empowerment #ChangeMakers #SocialWorkProfession #SocialWorkAdvocacy #HelpOthers #MakeADifference #CommunityImpact #AdvocacyInAction

At Masada, we believe in the power of community healing 🌻 After the devastation of the Eaton and Palisades fires, we connected with the Altadena Library District at the Care Camp (held by the County of Los Angeles, Department of Parks and Recreation). When the library reached out to us for support, we were honored to help by hosting a Restoring Wellness & Resilience workshop—that focused on grounding exercises, self-care practices, and trauma-informed responses—and treating the librarians to a well-deserved appreciation lunch and appreciation kits. Healing takes time, and we will continue to support the Altadena Library however we can. ❤️ #AltadenaStrong #FCTdayofgiving

💙 Celebrating the Heart of Social Work 💙 Josette earned a Master’s in Social Work from CSULB and began her journey as a Foster Care Social Worker. Over the past 26 years, she has served as a Psychiatric Social Worker in schools, mental health clinics, and the Department of Mental Health, becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker along the way. Now, Josette continues to make an impact in a supportive role as a QA/QI Clinician for the Masada family. ✨ “I would say that social work has many levels of impact. A grounding principle of social work is being strengths-based, so having a positive influence on those we work with starts with the ability to focus on the good in others. This ability impacts the work that we do at the individual, family, school, community, and systems levels. I cannot identify a single meaningful moment in my career, as it has been a beautiful tapestry of heartwarming as well as heartbreaking, meaningful moments.”✨ Thank you, Josette, for your unwavering dedication to mental health and supporting our clinicians. Your work makes a difference every day! 👏💐 #SWMonth2025 #SocialWorkMonth #socialwork #socialworker #CompassionInAction #MasadaProud #socialworkerspotlight #qualityimprovement #qualityassurance

A great social worker doesn’t just support their clients—they uplift entire families. Denise Moravec, ACSW, is one of those remarkable individuals who goes above and beyond to create meaningful change. 💙 🌿 “Denise helped my son Robert when he was struggling to open up. She found creative ways to connect with him, gaining his trust and guiding him through difficult moments. But her impact didn’t stop there—she was also a huge support to me as a parent, always going the extra mile, listening, and finding resources to help our family. She truly cares for the whole child and their environment. I am so grateful for everything she has done for us.” – Robert’s Caregiver Denise, your dedication to both your clients and their families is inspiring. Thank you for the difference you make every day! 💙👏 #SWMonth2025 #SocialWork #CompassionInAction #SocialWorkerSpotlight #RealStories #ClientVoices #MasadaImpact

Some social workers are called to this profession by their own lived experiences—Mireya Romero, ACSW, is one of them. 💙 ✨ "As a Salvadoran, Mexican American mujer and Associate Clinical Social Worker, I am inspired by the dream to be the therapist I needed as a child and the support I longed for as a mother. My journey, shaped by raising a daughter with Down syndrome and growing up in underserved communities, where judgment and lack of support were common, fueled my passion for resilience, empathy, and providing unwavering support to those in need." ✨ Mireya’s commitment to empowerment, healing, and advocacy is felt in every interaction. Her goal is simple yet profound: to inspire hope, leaving those she encounters feeling heard, valued, and empowered. Mireya, thank you for your dedication to social justice, dignity, and holistic care. Your work changes lives! 💙👏 #SWMonth2025 #CompassionInAction #MasadaProud #SocialWorkerSpotlight
