Thank you to everyone who attended last week’s 2024 New England Real Estate Journal & M3 Real Estate Summit! The event brought together real estate stakeholders, businesses, municipalities, workforce resources, and community leaders from across New England. Held at Redgate's newly renovated Riverwalk Labs in the Town of Bedford, MA, the summit focused on #cleantech integration in real estate, fostering collaboration, and promoting sustainable growth strategies. We’re grateful to our keynote speakers, Sarah Stanton from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED), who discussed the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’s economic development priorities and the role of climate tech companies, and Mark Melnik from UMass Donahue Institute, who presented key trends and needs in the Commonwealth. Shoutout to Anne Maglia from University of Massachusetts Lowell, who moderated and provided updates on the Lowell Innovation Network Corridor (LINC). Our panelists shared valuable insights, including Kyle Dupell from Erland Construction, Katherine Moses from the City of Lowell, Ruairi O Mahony from the Rist Institute for Sustainability & Energy, Tim DiNicola from EVOLOH, and Tyler Morandi from Redgate. Special thank you to Redgate for hosting, our exhibitors, and to our sponsors: Enterprise Bank (Enterprise Bancorp), Erland Construction, Maugel DeStefano Architects, Northmarq, Redgate, Riemer & Braunstein LLP, SAK Environmental LLC, Solect Energy, and U.S. Pavement National, LLC.

I had the privilege of attending the Preservation Massachusetts Annual Conference, held at the historic Hanover Theatre in Worcester. It was inspiring to be surrounded by so much passion and dedication to preserving our architectural heritage. The event was led off by a keynote from Bonnie McDonald followed by several seminars featuring case studies and walking tours of some incredible preserved sites in Worcester. Bonnie’s emphasis on storytelling through the "Three A's" was particularly impactful: Audience: How do we connect more deeply with our audience and understand what resonates with them? Access: How does the audience value history, and how can we make it more accessible? Arc: How can we craft a narrative that links our historic past with the present, ensuring that the story continues? A special thank you to Preservation Massachusetts for bringing together such dedicated professionals and for providing a platform to learn from these great case studies. In light of the importance of preservation, I'd like to share a quote by Henry David Thoreau: "It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see." #historicpreservation #multifamily #storytelling #massachusetts Maugel DeStefano Architects
