Severe weather is here across the U.S., and it pays to be iron strong for your communities. In Woodward, Oklahoma, Northwestern Electric Cooperative experienced a straight-line wind event last summer that knocked down several wood poles. But as you can see in these photos, their ductile iron poles stood resilient. Northwest Electric Coop is using ductile iron poles throughout their system to prevent a cascading failure of wood poles when a wind or ice event happens, and this summer their grid is stronger than ever. https://bit.ly/3RtGa0y

Did you know McWane Ductile iron pipe is recyclable? This provides a stronger, safer and more sustainable alternative that outlasts other materials. Additionally, the larger inside diameter of Ductile iron pipe (compared to substitute materials) means that, for a given flow, it takes less energy to pump through ductile pipe. With its wall thickness and corrosion control, Ductile iron pipe has a minimum anticipated service life of 100 years. Learn more about our sustainability efforts: https://lnkd.in/gJ2rRTKK

Kennedy Valve Company participated in the United Way of the Southern Tier’s “Day of Action,” where team members volunteered their day at the local Corning Youth Center. A very special thanks to Alex Fresonke, Tracy Barchet, TJ Gillette, Gene Patterson, Liz Hickox, Dan Burczynski, Stephen Hum, Cherise Haase and Chris Abernatha for their time and efforts! Our team helped with organizing the quiet and art room, washing windows, cleaning the garden bed, tarp and mulching the flower area and cleaning around the building of unwanted weeds and brush.

Recently, Clow Valve Company competed in the 2024 Ergo Cup with their Slag Cart Dumper. This product solves several ergonomic risks, including neck, lower back, and upper and lower extremity injuries, to reduce safety hazards. Bibby Ste-Croix participated in the competition with their Whellabrator Hooks project, which reduces ergonomic risks by using a set of hooks for better posture while drilling holes in podotactile plates. The Ergo Cup is a great event for companies to develop new products and ideas to reduce and prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders and other injuries. #SafetyMonth
