  • Thank you, Gov. Wes Moore, for helping us kick off Cybersecurity Awareness Month! Cybersecurity Awareness Month is an annual international initiative that educates the public sector, private sector, and the general public about the importance of strong cybersecurity. Stay tuned. Throughout the month, the Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT) will share best practices and resources to help you stay safe at work and at home. We will also share how the Office of Security Management within DoIT keeps our State secure. In a fast-changing world, strong cybersecurity is more important than ever. Together, we can keep our State secure.

  • Cyber Tip - Recognize and Report Phishing Emails: Phishing emails are fraudulent emails sent by scammers and threat actors to compromise State systems and data. Phishing emails may ask for personal information or prompt you to click on suspicious links. Be cautious, don’t click suspicious links, and verify the sender's email address before taking any action. Be especially cautious when responding to emails from non-maryland.gov email addresses. If you are a Maryland State employee and you suspect an email directed at your State email is a phishing attempt, report it immediately to the Maryland Security Operations Center (MDSOC). The MDSOC operates 24x7. IT security incidents can be reported to soc@maryland.gov via email or by calling 410-697-9700, option 5.
