Metal Shark has delivered the first of two new welded-aluminum 50 Defiant NXT fireboats to Anne Arundel County Fire Department in Annapolis, Maryland (vessel shown here in Destin, Florida during transit from Metal Shark to the customer). Designed in-house and built in Franklin, Louisiana, the new fireboats will greatly improve the Department’s capability, with faster speeds enabling shorter response times, greater pumping volume increasing firefighting effectiveness, and a next-generation design improving efficiency while affording greater safety to firefighters. With the acquisition of these state-of-the-art firefighting machines, Anne Arundel County Fire Department joins a rapidly growing list of Metal Shark fire-rescue clients across the country. In less than three years Metal Shark will have delivered new fireboats to City of Virginia Beach Fire Department, Chicago Fire Department, East Chilton Fire Rescue, East Lincoln County Fire Department, Everett Fire Department, Forsyth County Fire Department, Marco Island Fire Rescue, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Tampa Fire Department, Massport Fire, Orange County Sheriff/Fire Department, Prince George’s County Fire Department, Stafford County Fire, St. John County Fire, and numerous others. Storm prep underway! Here’s the removable flood wall going up at our Franklin shipyard in preparation for Hurricane Francine. Built in 2021-2022 under the direction of St. Mary Levee District, the new levee features a removable flood wall that can be installed along our shipyard waterfront in a day, affording greatly improved storm surge protection, keeping our employees at work and our deliveries on track following hurricanes and tropical storms. Huge thanks to everyone involved in making this project a reality including Franklin Mayor Eugene Foulcard, Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard, Iberia Industrial Development Foundation (IDF) CEO Mike Tarrantino, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, Senator John Kennedy, Congressman Clay Higgins, Congressman Garret Graves, District 48 State Representative Beau Beaullieu, MBA, AIF, C(k)P , and District 22 State Representative Blake Miguez .

Metal Shark 36 Fearless “Ricochet,” tender to the yacht VivieRae, shown here during a recent voyage to Truk Lagoon in the Federated States of Micronesia. Designed as a tow-behind and built to withstand the rigors of ocean crossings, the 36 Fearless Yacht Tender is rugged, tough, and built to perform. With its high performance, Michael Peters-designed SVVT stepped hull and triple Mercury 300 HP Verado outboards, she’s capable, nimble, and quick. Special features on this welded-aluminum workhorse include a Humphree active ride control system, a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer, a rooftop solar panel array, full tackle station, and Frigid Rigid 300-quart coffin box and 95-quart icebox. Four Llebroc SV bucket seats atop SHOXS S8 shock-mitigating seat pedestals insulate occupants from jarring impacts. A full-height tempered glass windshield and oversized aluminum hard top with roll-down curtain package provide protection from the elements. A urethane-sheathed, high-density closed-cell foam WING collar provides maximum impact protection, and oversized port and starboard dive doors allow easy access from either side of the vessel.
