Creating a globally competitive Milwaukee region that fosters high-value employment to sustain a vibrant quality of life
About us
Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce’s (MMAC) vision is to create a globally competitive region that fosters high-value employment to sustain a vibrant quality of life for all. For more than 160 years, we have served area businesses as a private, not-for-profit organization. Today we represent nearly 2,000 member businesses with 300,000+ employees in Metro Milwaukee and beyond. Mirroring the region's business breakdown, more than 80% of our members are small businesses, employing 1 to 100 employees, while nearly all the region's Fortune 500 & Forbes 1000 are also members. United around the goal of ensuring long-term prosperity for both the community and its individual businesses, our engaged leaders take action and get results on impactful regional projects including Fiserv Forum, The Avenue, and American Family Field. Chamber membership provides access to numerous programs and perks, but at its core, you are investing in: TALENT: MMAC has been a long-time leader in building the region’s talent pipeline, especially for underserved and disadvantaged populations. We provide ad-hoc events and expert content supporting talent/workforce programming across an organization. EQUITY: Two years ago, MMAC launched a Region of Choice initiative, seeking to expand the number of Black and Hispanic employees and managers in Milwaukee-area companies. To date, 120 employers, representing more than 119,000 employees, have made the pledge to increase their overall Black and Hispanic workforce representation. GROWTH: We compete every day with regions around the country, and the world, to attract business investment and talent through the Milwaukee 7 (M7) Partnership for Economic Development. LIVABILITY: MMAC advocates on behalf of transformational projects that enhance the region’s quality of life, while seeking common-sense public policy solutions to ensure that challenges such as high property taxes, do not derail the region’s long-term future.

We are thrilled to share that our Teamship program in Milwaukee Public Schools through the MMAC 'Be the Spark' initiative was featured in the latest issue of the #MilwaukeeCommerce Juniors at Reagan and Hamilton High Schools partnered with regional and local businesses, such as Johnson Financial Group and Northwestern Mutual, to solve real business problems. Under Teamship, MPS students: ✅Learned to work in diverse teams, solve complex problems, and develop essential human skills valued in the workforce. ✅Enhanced their confidence, self-awareness, and ability to pitch ideas effectively. ✅Gained practical experience by addressing actual business challenges and presenting solutions to business partners, instilling skills beyond what AI can offer. In the #FutureofWork, having the skills to solve novel, complex problems will be critical for career growth. Teamship is the vehicle for these skills. Huge thank you to Ashley Fahey, Alexis Deblitz, and Rebecca Beeson for their partnership on this initiative. 👉Follow the link to read more: https://lnkd.in/gkde-HzZ

I'm fired up after just returning from the St. Augustine Preparatory Academy (Aug Prep) North Campus ground breaking on the former site of Cardinal Stritch University. Aug Prep on MKE's south side has transformed students, families and also a neighborhood. Property values have sky rocketed and crime is down 43%. Their winning formula is now coming to the North side of Milwaukee - a diverse school by design - the campus will open up in 2026. This is a case study in business success creating community success. The Ramirez family success at Husco has led to hundreds of millions in investments that are shaping our city to make the Good Land an even better Land. Remarkable comments made today by David Crowley, Abby Andrietsch, Gus Ramirez and other stakeholders. MMAC is all in - let's do this! Austin Ramirez https://lnkd.in/g_QwGRdt

You can do that by making sure you're taking advantage of all we have to offer. We're here to help you grow your business, gain leadership skills, advocate for a great business climate and much more. #MKE #ChamberStrong #Livability #Talent #Growth
