As Breast Cancer Awareness Month kicks off, MUSC Health Florence, Marion, and Black River Medical Centers are taking part by displaying hundreds of flamingos on their hospital lawns. This annual tradition brings awareness in a unique way and serves as a reminder of our commitment to supporting those affected by breast cancer. Many of our practices are also joining in by wearing pink! #BreastCancerAwareness #MUSCHealth #HealthcareSupport

We’re excited to announce the arrival of a new stand-up MRI machine at MUSC Health’s West Ashley Medical Pavilion in Charleston! This cutting-edge technology was made possible by patient and advocate Sydney Severance, who led a fundraising campaign raising $1.2M to bring the machine to MUSC Health. Sydney’s journey with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) inspired her to help others access the same diagnostic tool that changed her life. Thank you to Sydney and everyone involved in making this impactful addition possible! #ChangingWhatsPossible #MUSCCharleston #EDS #Innovation

We're proud that so many MUSC Health team members were able to attend Notable's annual conference in San Francisco! Together, we continue to push the boundaries of innovation in health care. #ChangingWhatsPossible
It was a pleasure to keynote Notable’s annual conference in San Francisco this year. I talked about transformation being a journey and shared four specific use cases where AI has helped us drive better patient experience and outcomes. My colleagues Dr. Gene Hong, Crystal Broj and Franco Cardillo represented our work so thoughtfully on panel discussions throughout the event. And, MUSC won an impact award for our work in scaling AI to transform health care. Really proud of our organization and the thousands of MUSC employees and clinicians who have embraced this work (more than 700 clinics!). Huge shout out to Cory Robinson, PhD, MHA, PMP, FACHE and Alison Lynch, MHA, PMP for their leadership. It was also great spending time with and learning from health care leaders like Robert Wachter, who coined the term hospitalist, and Toby Cosgrove, former CEO of Cleveland Clinic. Change is hard but together we go far! Thank you Pranay Kapadia, Aaron Neinstein, MD, FAMIA, Hollie Vugrinovich and the entire Notable crew for your partnership.

According to Dr. Erika Blank, the quality of our relationships can significantly impact our health, with strong social ties linked to reduced risks of heart disease, depression, and even premature death. As we reflect on the importance of community this month, consider mapping out your social connections to assess the strength and depth of your relationships. Here are a few actionable strategies to enhance your social connections: ▶️Invest in Relationships: Dedicate time to nurture and strengthen bonds with colleagues and mentors. ▶️Engage in Volunteering: Find opportunities to give back; volunteering not only helps others but also broadens your network. ▶️Join Professional Groups: Participate in industry-related organizations to meet peers and share insights.
