🌱📚 Transforming the literacy landscape, one book garden at a time. This time, the garden was planted at the One World WIC Clinic at OneWorld Community Health Centers in Omaha, Nebraska. Many thanks to CHRIST CHILD SOCIETY OF OMAHA, One World Community Health Centers, Inc., Nebraska Department of Education, and Unite For Literacy for making this book garden possible. Visitors at the clinic have access free books in both English and Spanish while they wait—and even better, they can take these books home, fostering a love for reading beyond the clinic. About us
**IMPORTANT NOTE - PLEASE APPLY FOR ALL POSITIONS THROUGH OUR POSTS, NOT THROUGH THE LINKEDIN-GENERATED JOBS. Nebraska Children’s mission is to create positive change for children through community engagement. Working with local, state, and national partners, Nebraska Children cultivates the good life for all of our children, from cradle to career. We envision a Nebraska where all children have the resources and support needed to realize their full potential. Nebraska Children and Families Foundation has a unique approach to solving large, complex social issues that affect our state’s children. It’s based on two core beliefs: 1. Prevention works. It’s the most effective and fiscally responsible approach for addressing complex social problems. 2. Channeling a community’s existing resources toward a common goal will maximize their effectiveness. Every initiative we undertake aligns with these principles. Our programs are preventive in nature, designed to keep children out of the welfare and criminal justice systems from birth through age 24. And our approach encompasses all the resources a community has to offer, helping to ensure community ownership of the process and outcomes. The end goal is to prepare all of Nebraska’s children for success in school and in life.

🗺️ We've hit the road! Our Tour of Nebraska Afterschool Programs kicks off with Valentine, Nebraska! Since its launch in 2022, The Badger Club has seen tremendous growth thanks to innovative, high-quality approach to afterschool. The strength and innovation of the Valentine's program is their ability to build and sustain a high-quality, successful program in a short amount of time, which continues to grow rapidly. While the Badger Club is a new program, they have participated in several Beyond School Bells (BSB)-sponsored initiatives to expand their programming with innovative afterschool practices. The Badger Club has received funding through our Leverage Grants, STEM Family Engagement mini-grants, and Engineering Pathways program. Additionally, they have engaged in Youth Brainstorming Sessions to lift youth voice, utilized high school students as staff in their program, and have a BSB TMC trailer to run programming out of in the summers! We are proud of our partners throughout the state! Stay tuned for our next stop! 📍 https://lnkd.in/e5tx2Nf #AfterschoolMatters #BeyondSchoolBells #TourofNebraskaAfterschoolPrograms #NebraskaAfterschool
