We are sincerely grateful for the financial support, assistance in organizing this space and the desire to create better opportunities for Mykolaiv youth. I had the honor to welcome the Ambassador of Denmark to Ukraine Ole Egberg Mikkelsen, as well as the head of the embassy office in Mykolaiv Jacob Hansen at the opening. Your support is invaluable, and we really appreciate it! I thank the director of the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House, Julie Arnfred Bojesen, who understands the strength and potential of the youth of Ukraine! 🔥This house will become a space where ideas will be born, projects will develop, and young people will be able to study, create, collaborate and grow. • 🔥Friends, today we have taken another step towards transforming our municipal enterprises. We met with PwC Ukraine experts at the City Council, which means that the Integrity Assessment of two municipal enterprises, Mykolaivelectrotrans and Mykolaivoblteploenergo, is officially starting. I hope you all remember our pilot story with Mykolaivvodokanal, where thanks to such a comprehensive audit we launched important processes, in particular, the creation of a supervisory board. Our ambitious plans include getting no worse results from both the municipal enterprise Mykolaivelectrotrans and the Mykolaivoblteploenergo. Both enterprises are critically important, as they ensure the functioning of the city. We will change them for: ✅ more efficient use of budget funds for their maintenance; ✅ creating attractive conditions for donors and partners. Therefore, we are waiting for expert reports, analyzing the results and implementing reforms. I thank the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) for its ongoing support – our constant partners. I am glad for our fruitful cooperation, we continue to work.

  • We were glad to welcome in Mykolaiv the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Ukraine Gaël Veyssière , members of the team of the #Royal_Danish_Embassy_Office in Mykolaiv and the #Expert_Investment_Fund_of_Denmark, as well as representatives of the European Investment Bank (EIB) headed by the CEO of the regional center for Eastern Europe Kristina Mikulova, PhD. During our meeting, we discussed the situation in Mykolaiv, the consequences of the shelling and the problem of water supply, because the city has been living without drinking water for three years. l emphasized the importance of not only donor assistance, but also attracting investment, because the return of people creates a need for jobs and business development. l spoke about cooperation with the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) and the launch of the first website for monitoring international aid, as well as a successful partnership with Denmark. Most of the time was devoted to discussing the resumption of water supply in Mykolaiv. Let us remind you that the French company Egis is preparing a feasibility study for the city for the construction of Mykolaivvodokanal treatment facilities. In addition, they also touched upon the EiB 's participation in the project to restore drinking water supply in Mykolaiv. l have had an opportunity to discuss this issue in detail with the head of the Eastern Europe regional center of the European Investment Bank in Kyiv, Kristina Mikulova. I am grateful that you are not indifferent to our city and the challenges that we face. Thank you to our European partners for supporting Mykolaiv and all of Ukraine🇺🇦

  • ‼️Signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the provision of technical assistance for the economic recovery of Mykolaiv between the City Council and the USAID "Democratic Governance in Eastern Ukraine" Project. I had a chance to talk to Julie Kohnen, USAID Mission Director. Mykolaiv has been cooperating with USAID since before the full-scale invasion. One example of our cooperation is providing our Administrative Services Center with the necessary equipment to improve the quality of administrative services to our citizens. During the war, our partnership has grown stronger and covers not only emergency response projects, but also recovery and development projects. The project to create a special space for entrepreneurial networking, supported by USAID, will strengthen support for businesses. This project is aimed at local entrepreneurs affected by the war and seeking to resume, expand or improve their businesses. In addition, residents interested in creating new businesses are a priority. All of them will receive valuable skills, practical tools, daily consultations and mentoring, as well as grant support to implement their ideas. Entrepreneurs will have a separate space where they can discuss and implement their business ideas. 🤝 It is expected that the support will activate entrepreneurial activity in Mykolaiv, create conditions for further development. I am grateful to USAID for the comprehensive support of Mykolaiv.

  • Had the opportunity to hold an online meeting with the Mayor of Kristiansand, Mathias Bernander. As a reminder, that in 2023, Mykolaiv signed a Memorandum of Partnership with this Norwegian city. The community of Kristiansand has repeatedly helped Mykolaiv. In particular, they have also donated buses for our municipal enterprise, which are already running around the city. This time, the representatives of the community were interested about the situation in Mykolaiv. It hasn't been that long since we last spoke, but change is on the way. I have told about the recent shelling of the city and emphasized that the Russians are attacking exclusively civilians. We were talking about: ✅ Development of our municipal transport and the opening of new routes. ✅ Master plan for Mykolaiv and what stage it is at. ✅ Assistance to international partners and the work of the first website in Ukraine for monitoring international aid. The Mayor of Kristiansand was also interested in our needs and how exactly he could help Mykolaiv. Of course, this year will be difficult for us because of the limited budget, but we are not giving up. We are working and building relationships.

  • We continue to equip our future plant for processing of waste, that remains after the destruction as a result of shelling by Russia. Recently, another batch of equipment arrived in Mykolaiv. All this became possible with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the people of Japan 🤝 We are grateful for such important help for us. For more information about the equipment and what it is needed for, watch the video 👇

  • Expanding our international partnerships. This time – the Kingdom of Sweden! We are starting twinning relations between the cities of Mykolaiv and Trelleborg. We held an online meeting with the mayor of the Trelleborg municipality and his team. I have told about Mykolaiv and the challenges we faced during the full-scale invasion. We have already agreed on the next meetings. I am sure that Trelleborg will become our twin city next year. I am grateful for the attention to Mykolaiv. I would like to note that the Kingdom of Sweden is now actively supporting Ukraine in matters of the country's defense capability.

🧹 SWEEPING SUCCESS AS DANISH STREET CLEANING MACHINES ARRIVE IN MYKOLAIV!   🚜 Mykolaiv has received multifunctional Danish equipment to keep its streets, parks, and squares clean and comfortable. Milestone was achieved through strong cooperation with the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO).   💬 “It is a great pleasure to be here with the mayor and representatives and community of the city of Mykolaiv. For Denmark, the people of Mykolaiv are not only friends, but now business partners. The Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) has implemented many projects in Ukraine, but this is the first experience of working with the city as a partner. For Denmark, it is extremely important to provide both military and humanitarian aid, but there must be a business component, and for this purpose, EIFO has committed EUR 755 million in projects in Ukraine,” said Kaare Andreasen, Finance Director and Counsellor at the Danish Embassy.   ❄️ With five advanced machines and 25 units of mounted equipment, Mykolaiv can now tackle everything from litter to snow. Cleansing Mykolaiv The release of the loan to Mykolaiv city of EUR 1 million with a 40% grant element for the purchase of 5 sweepers from the Danish SME Egholm A/S. While Oleksandr Syenkevych, Mayor of Mykolaiv and I celebrated the transaction in Mykolaiv, the EIFO team behind the transaction with Mikkel Schyler Gram-Jensen and Peder Larsen celebrated in Denmark with Aleksey Shetsko from www.Egholm.com.ua. The transaction has been realised due to the close cooperation between Ukreximbank and Danmarks Eksport- og Investeringsfond. Anna Sklyarova, Sviatoslav Kuzmych and the rest of the Ukreximbank team showed great enthusiasm despite the relatively small amount. This cooperation ensures Ukreximbank and EIFO a solid platform for new transactions with Danish exporters and Ukrainian public and private  counterparts. A special thank you to Olena Mochalova from Federation of Employers of Ukraine for bringing the parties together to begin with.
