A surge of skilled workers is coming for the clean energy industry.     Led by the U.S. Climate Alliance, the Governors’ Climate-Ready Workforce Initiative is set to propel a million new workers into apprenticeship programs that will train them to enter the green workforce and excel in climate-focused jobs. The Alliance has shown that climate action through legislative acts like the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) goes hand-in-hand with employment creation, specifically for these six major U.S. economic sectors: #manufacturing, #transport / #warehousing, #construction, #wholesale / #retail, #utilities, and #services. While energy demand across the U.S. continues to grow, the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) for solar has undergone a dramatic decline, falling a whopping 90% since 2010! As the leading business organization in New York, the NY Business Council serves as an advocate for its more than 3,000 member companies to stimulate economic growth and create a healthy business climate across the Empire State.   The clean energy industry is an engine for the economic growth that the Business Council strives to create, with the solar industry alone contributing to over $60 billion of private investment in the American economy last year (https://lnkd.in/dNre_Vrr). Teamwork makes the dream work! 🚣 Internally at Onyx, we emphasize the importance of not only working together as a team, but of collectively 'rowing' in the same direction at the same pace to achieve our goals. (And it seems this group took it literally!)
