Over 700 New Yorkers have signed up to volunteer this Open House New York Weekend (October 18-20), will you join them to help us unlock the city? OHNY Weekend features over 200 destinations across the five boroughs, is attended by more than 30,000 people, and is made possible with the help of more than 1,000 volunteers. What does a Weekend Volunteer do? · Volunteers are assigned to help support one place that opens their doors for the festival. · Shifts are four hours on average, and volunteers may be tasked with greeting festival participants, distributing materials, collecting attendance, ensuring participants stay with tour groups, managing lines, and answering general questions about the festival. As a thank you, Weekend Volunteers receive: · An exclusive OHNY Weekend Volunteer t-shirt · Expedited access to Open Access Weekend sites, as available. · Volunteer-Only community events Plus, you’ll connect with a community of fellow New Yorkers who share your passion for this incredible city. Last Tuesday, Open House New York board member and architect at Practice for Architecture and Urbanism (PAU), Ruchika Modi, led an exclusive tour of The Refinery at Domino for members of OHNY's Open Council. Guests enjoyed panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline from the domed glass penthouse behind the iconic Domino Sugar sign, explored the fifth-floor terrace, and admired the stunning office spaces.
