Meet Sergio! A lifelong Angeleno, Sergio has been a professional house painter for decades, but boxing is his true passion 🥊. After going through a divorce, he had to manage child support, which caused financial strain. His support system moved away from Los Angeles, and he struggled to keep up with the payments. To cope, he turned to substance use, leading to the loss of his job. He ended up living on the streets, taking on temporary jobs while experiencing homelessness. During his time without shelter, a PATH outreach case worker contacted Sergio and helped him access interim housing. After several months of living in interim housing, he secured his own studio apartment at Path Metro Villas- a permanent supportive housing site with a gym for boxing! He also receives essential mental healthcare and medication through PATH's onsite supportive services. Sergio takes great pride in his new home and enjoys collecting plants and hats. 🪴🧢 We're so glad to welcome him home! Live in LA? You can vote to strengthen the services that helped Sergio make it home. Measure A (The Bold New Way) is a countywide measure on the ballot this November! It will guarantee funding for the outreach and services that helped Sergio, and increase affordable housing and homelessness prevention for people across LA. Vote YES on Measure A! #vote #yesonA #endhomelessness

Beautiful day to officially open our newest (72 unit) interim housing site, Pacific Motor Inn, alongside our partners, such as San José Mayor Matt Mahan. We also reverse trick or treated by dropping off packages of candy for all of our residents.

It was wonderful to join my PATH Santa Clara County colleagues yesterday to celebrate the grand opening of the Pacific Motor Inn interim housing site. This former motel has been converted into 72-units of interim housing to provide shelter and supportive services to unhoused individuals. These units will eventually be converted into permanent supportive housing and San Jose Mayor, Matt Mahan was there to help us celebrate. Check out the great coverage from the San José Spotlight: https://lnkd.in/gbKJnztf

PATH is proud to partner with the County of Los Angeles Homeless Initiative on Pathway Home, a program that reduces unsheltered homelessness. We do this by helping Angelenos living on the streets come indoors and providing the supportive services they need, with the ultimate goal of moving into permanent housing. Meet Rasheid! Rasheid was born and raised in Compton, Los Angeles. He was incarcerated for five years. Once he was released, he started couch-surfing while looking for housing but couldn't find a stable place to live. Soon, he began to experience unsheltered homelessness on the streets of Los Angeles. After a few months of living in an encampment, he was connected to Mayor Karen Bass' Inside Safe Initiative. After living in an Inside Safe site for a month, he was able to find his own apartment through Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority's Project Master Lease at Vida DTLA with onsite supportive services provided by PATH. Now that he has a place to call home, he is taking online courses in computer coding, reading, and biking. He's very thankful that his new home includes a bike garage! When asked how he is doing now that he has a home, he said, "It's like night and day!” Live in LA? You can vote to strengthen the services that helped Rasheid make it home. Yes on Measure A is a countywide measure on the ballot this November! It will guarantee funding for the outreach and services that helped Rasheid and increase affordable housing and homelessness prevention for people across LA. Vote YES on Measure A! #vote #yesonA #endhomelessness
