Foundation for Healthy Communities
About us
Philadelphia Health Partnership is a private, independent foundation. Our mission is to advocate for and resource equitable, quality care and services that improve the health and well-being of people in Philadelphia. We envision a Philadelphia in which everyone, particularly those who have faced barriers to opportunity, achieves optimal health and well-being. The foundation is now celebrating its 25th year in operation. It was created in 1997 as part of the merger between Pennsylvania Hospital and the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania. Originally known as “First Hospital Foundation,” we became “Philadelphia Health Partnership: Foundation for Healthy Communities” in 2018. Our name stands for our commitment to Philadelphia County, our focus on health, and our philosophy toward collaboration and engagement.

PHP grantee partner Children First (formerly PCCY) is focused on the importance of making child care and pre-k issues a top priority in elections. Through the Child Care Voter Campaign, they are spreading the word to a greater audience in key districts and sharing policy goals with candidates and communities. By hosting Candidate Conversations, they allow families and local communities to learn about candidates’ views on important issues like child care and early education. Child Care Voters care about access to quality early care and education for Pennsylvania families and kids. Be a Child Care Voter! How do you improve civic engagement? PHP grantee partner SEAMAAC has worked to develop trust with the communities they serve by engaging them in their own languages. Voters are more likely to be civically engaged if they feel connected. By educating communities about the voting process and current issues in their own languages, the likelihood of participation increases. Be sure to show you are civically engaged by getting out to vote and sharing this post! Visit https://lnkd.in/eGKf_3qd today. #civicengagement #phillyvote #votephilly

Pennsylvania Voice believes a healthy democracy creates healthy communities. Their aim is to build an inclusive, just, and reflective multiracial democracy throughout the state of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Voice serves as the table where 50 partner organizations meet to discuss, plan, and coordinate their work around a collective state-wide democracy agenda. PHP grantee partners SEAMAAC and New Voices for Reproductive Justice are two members of Pennsylvania Voice's Integrated Voter Engagement Work Group. This group convenes community-based organizations that conduct year-round nonpartisan direct voter outreach focused on closing the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) voter registration gap, educating voters, and increasing turnout in BIPOC communities.
