Today at COP16 in Cali, Colombia, the Nature Tech Alliance (made up of Planet and our partners, ERM, Salesforce, and NatureMetrics) released a report with insights from leading companies about their nature performance journeys – what they’re learning, where they’re stuck. We've gone from a data drought to a data deluge in regards to Earth data over past few years, and this has launched a new era of nature reporting. Through exclusive interviews with C-suite leaders, we reveal how they work with this data and key steps to move from “Do No Harm” to “Nature-Positive” through thoughtful and timely integration of technology. Starting next week, the eyes of the world will turn to Cali, Colombia, for the next UN Biodiversity Conference, COP16. We at Planet are proud to share that we will be on the ground for the week, demonstrating how we work in tandem with global governments, researchers, NGOs, and businesses to restore and value nature, protect ecosystems, and halt extinction. The just-published 2024 Living Planet Report suggests there’s been a 73% drop in wildlife populations since 1970, as iconic ecosystems like coral reefs and tropical forests face possible tipping points and loss. At a crucial moment for life on Earth, we’re working with our partners across myriad industries to help build effective solutions, drawing on the latest technology and AI. Next week at COP16, with ERM, Salesforce, and NatureMetrics, we will release a new report with insights from leading companies about their nature performance journeys – what they’re learning, where they’re stuck. We identify key steps to move from “Do No Harm” to “Nature-Positive” through thoughtful and timely integration of data and tech, and show how leading performers are already on their way. Stay tuned for next week’s release!

To wrap up our month-long celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we are highlighting Kattia Flores Pozo, Planet’s Mission Operations Director in Germany. Kattia leads a team of talented engineers to ensure the safe and efficient operations of hundreds of Planet satellites. Kattia enjoys trying new cuisines and playing all sorts of board games, but most of all, she loves adventures in the outdoors. “I love exploring! This is why I absolutely love my work at Planet, with our satellites we have the ability to explore our planet daily in an unprecedented and impactful way. Down on Earth, I enjoy spending time in nature. My home country Bolivia has a rich diverse landscape, flora, and fauna. Whenever I am in nature, I feel connected to it.”
