Procon's Midwest team was excited to attend Infraday Midwest in Chicago, where infrastructure leaders from across the public and private sectors came together to shape a more modern, resilient, and sustainable future. The day presented opportunities to network with local and regional governmental entities and learn about new capital programs, chat about infrastructure innovation with friends and partners like Kahua, and attend educational sessions on carbon reduction success, AI and data management, and sustainability topics related to public infrastructure. Procon is committed to working with industry to help build stronger, smarter, safer, and more sustainable communities across the country. #BuiltforWhatsNext #InfradayMidwest #ConstructionManagement #SustainableInfrastructure #Innovation #PublicPrivatePartnerships #ResilientFuture #ProconConsulting #InfrastructureLeadership #UrbanDevelopment #ClimateResilience #BuildingTheFuture

Back to school with a Tech Twist! At Procon, learning never stops, and this month we took our regularly scheduled AI tips and tricks session up a notch with a full on lunch and learn focused on AI in Construction. The Technology team shared real-world case studies where we used AI tools such as ChatGPT, PythonGPT, and Gamma.app to summarize complex BIM standards and ensure compliance through automated QC checks. From streamlining client deliverables to automating routine tasks, AI is revolutionizing construction management and paving the way for smarter and more efficient processes. Stay tuned as Procon continues to push boundaries and innovate in construction management! The rumors about Procon are true... Procon team members were spotted earlier this week manically measuring food cans at the local Giant Food. That can only mean one thing — we are gearing up for #CANstruction2024! CANstruction is organized by the AIA|DC + WAF as a creative design-build competition that benefits the Capital Area Food Bank. Teams from DMV-area architecture and design firms use their skills to build sculptures out of canned food only. The best part? The nutritious shelf-stable food is donated to those in need after the event. This year’s theme is "Construction Tools and Equipment," and we can’t wait to see the innovative designs that will come to life on Build Day at the National Building Museum on November 24, 2024. Stay tuned as we create something special and contribute to an important cause. Nothing makes us happier than doing what we love to impact the community that we love. Can you guess what we're building? #BuiltForWhatsNext #ConstructionManagement #CANstruction2024 #GivingBack #DesignBuild #CapitalAreaFoodBank #CommunityImpact #ProconConsulting #BuildingForGood #TeamProcon #WashingtonDC #CannedFood

Summer Field Trip: Intern edition We brought our Virginia Tech interns behind the scenes of two of our most prestigious project sites — the U.S. Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial, where they had the opportunity to see a smaller renovation at the Capitol building and progress on the museum space coming to the Lincoln Memorial undercroft in 2026. We love to share our passion for building and showcase the iconic sites in our portfolio with the next generation of construction leaders. Interested in joining our Summer 2025 intern program? Celebration Season Continues with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs HQ Ribbon Cutting! In recent weeks, we've had the pleasure of attending the ribbon cutting ceremony for our GSA Madawaska, ME Border Project, the groundbreaking for the National Park Service Tidal Basin Seawall Rehabilitation Project, and most recently, the ribbon cutting for the modernized second floor of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Headquarters in downtown Washington, DC. Procon served as the Construction Manager as Advisor on the second floor office renovation project, and is currently providing CMa services to GSA for additional projects within the VA office building on the 8th, 10th, and 11th floors. Kudos to Procon's hardworking project team — Josue Fernandez, PE, PMP, CCM, LEED AP, Dustin Sun and Mark B Miller, pictured here with Edward Pogreba (Procon), John Czarapata (GSA), and Bill Longhi (VA). #BuiltforWhatsNext #RibbonCutting #ConstructionManagement #GSA #VeteransAffairs #OfficeRenovation #GrandOpening #GovCon #Procon

We are counting down the days until the Hitt Hall Dedication Ceremony in September so we can explore this new cutting-edge facility in person. Procon's Co-Founders Mark Ilich and Kyu Jung could not have started this company without the direct access to hands-on learning, mentorship, and construction technology during their time at Virginia Tech. We can't wait to see how Virginia Tech Myers-Lawson School of Construction students will use these innovative spaces to drive the CM industry forward. https://lnkd.in/grFvEkKD
Students are back in Blacksburg and able to have classes in Hitt Hall for the first time! With three floors of learning spaces and a dining hall, there's something for everyone to enjoy! #VTMLSoC #Construction #BacktoSchool

Procon Attends Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for GSA Madawaska Border Project On Thursday, August 15, 2024, Procon joined GSA and U.S. and Canadian officials at the border in Madawaska, ME to celebrate the completion of the Madawaska Land Port of Entry (LPOE) and Madawaska-Edmundston International Bridge connecting Madawaska, Maine, with Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada. The ribbon cutting ceremony, which was hosted by GSA, included U.S. Senators from Maine, Susan Collins, and Angus King, as well as members from the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the Maine DOT. Procon served as the Construction Manager as Advisor (CMa) on the complex GSA project. The two structures comprise a decades-long border project. The international bridge was last completed in 1921, making it more than a century old and in dire need of repairs. The new Land Port of Entry facility is 10x the size of the old one built in 1959, and boasts LEED Gold status. Procon is honored to have played a role in this project, which will improve border crossing safety and enhance economic opportunities for the U.S. and our friends in Canada. https://lnkd.in/ekZBani5 #BuiltForWhatsNext #LandPortofEntry #MadawaskaME #GSA #BorderCrossing #MadawaskaEdmundstonInternationalBridge #USCanadaBorder #USCanadaConnection #ConstructionManagement #LEEDGold

New Project Spotlight: David Skaggs Research Center in Boulder, CO Last week, we posted about a Procon project for GSA in Detroit, MI - the Patrick V. McNamara Federal Building. Like the McNamara Federal Building, the David Skaggs Research Center is also funded by the Inflation Reduction Act with the aim of maintaining federal facilities and reducing carbon emissions. The David Skaggs Research Center is situated at the base of the flatiron formations between Green Mountain and Bear Peak in Boulder, CO. The 405,000 SF building houses research and office space for NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. Although the Skaggs building is already an energy conserving, green building, Procon has been brought on to support the GSA by providing construction management as advisor services for the replacement of materials in the parking garage with low-embodied carbon (LEC) materials that meet the new GSA IRA requirements. #BuiltForWhatsNext #ConstructionManagement #DavidSkaggsResearchCenter #SkaggsBuilding #IRA #InvestinginAmerica #LEC #SustainableConstruction #GSA #FederalFacility #NOAA
