So excited to announce the winners of this year’s National Beauty Pitch by Black Girl Ventures, Rare Beauty Brands and JCPenney!!! First place: Halima Hubbard (formerly Wyatt) of Bath Notes (such a cool concept) Second place: Rachel Zeigler of Naked Chemistry Skincare (beautifully executed brand) Third Place: Keta Burke-Williams of Ourside (on a mission to disrupt fragrances) And congratulations to the rest of our finalists, Orion B. Kaylah A. Joseph Whitney McElwain and Nita Worth! Thank you to our Champions (aka judges, but they’re more helpful than judgy 😁) Daren Graham Curry, Leslie Roberson, and Aishetu Fatima Dozie! Finally, HUGE thanks to the BGV team who made it happen (Omi Bell , Shaunda Lambert-Gary , Bee Law 🐝👩🏽⚖️ , Taylor Marshall, and many others), the JCPenney team who supported the whole way and who donated shelf space to our winner (Jo Osborne , Dede Parrish , Stephanie Locke, and many others) and our RBB team who will be advising the three finalists on brand-building strategies and tactics (Lori Erlich , Rebecca Jukes , Michael Jordan and the aforementioned Daren Graham Curry ).
