We are so proud of our partner, Museum of Science, and its work to make STEM education accessible to all. As part of #MassSTEMWeek, students from East Boston were joined by Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll and Secretary of Education Patrick Tutwiler as they participated in the Museum's 2024 Engineering Design Challenge. Through the challenge, students considered the effects of plastic pollution and worked together to engineer filters to reduce plastic waste. We were thrilled to join Greentown Labs this week and visit with their world-changing climate tech startups. Climatetech Summit 2024 featured keynotes and sessions with leaders across green energy, finance, policy, and equity, as well as networking with key climate action trailblazers.

Had the privilege of attending the annual Museum of African American History Stone Book Award at Boston's African Meeting House. Museum CEO Noelle Trent welcomed the SRO crowd and Callie Crossley of WGBH Radio and Television led interesting and inspiring conversations with top prize winning author Victor Luckerson and finalists Dr. Chad L Williams and Dr. Barbara D. We're so proud to be working with Mass MoCA, the nation's largest contemporary art museum and a vital part of the Berkshire's cultural community and economy. The Plastic Bag Store is the latest smart, immersive exhibit that combines art and social commentary to showcase the impacts of single-use plastics on the environment. MASS MoCA recently hosted Chair John Barrett, Chair Mindy Domb, Senator Becca Rausch, and DEP Deputy Commissioner John Beling to see The Plastic Bag Store and to partake in an interactive panel discussion. Thank you for traveling out to North Adams for the event, for your leadership, and for contributing your valuable insights to the conversation!

This weekend, we were thrilled to attend AfterDark at THEARC’s Annual Gala, which raised funds to ensure the future of the 11th Street Bridge Park - Washington, D.C.’s first elevated public park. This year’s event was emceed by FOX 5 DC morning anchor Marissa Mitchell and honored local heroes like the award-winning actor Jeffrey Wright. Officially opened in 2005, THEARC-Building Bridges Across the River is a $27 million, 110,000 square foot, state-of-the-art campus located in Ward 8. Twelve cultural and social service partners are based at THEARC, one off-campus, and all share the goal of helping underserved children and adults reach their full potential.

We can’t wait to check out the new additions to Boston Public Market – courtesy of the Entrepreneurship Forum, launched in partnership with Citizens in 2022. Tiny Farmhouse, AIRI Jewelry & Gallery, and Bluebird Bouquets, three women-owned businesses, were recognized as this year’s winners, receiving up to a year of free rent so they can showcase their products at the Boston Public Market. Lisa Murray, Citizens MA President and Cheryl Cronin CEO of Boston Public Market, celebrated with the winners at an event this week.
