Official charitable arm of Seattle Sounders FC. Using soccer as a vehicle to inspire youth and strengthen communities.
About us
The RAVE Foundation, the official charitable arm of the Seattle Sounders, is a 501c-3 public charity which was founded in 2013 to serve the greater Puget Sound community. Its mission: To build small fields for free play and invest in programs that use soccer as a vehicle to inspire youth and strengthen communities. The RAVE Foundation has three core strategies: First, to use soccer as a vehicle to empower and inspire; Second, to remove barriers to participation on and off the field; and, Third, to support, catalyze and strengthen communities. By building small fields, the RAVE Foundation provides a place for kids to play freely, be physically active and safe, and to be inclusive stakeholders in their communities.

We are honored to be featured in the The Seattle Times Giving Guide 2024 as one of three nonprofits investing in youth recreation and free play. It's all part of #GiveBIG coming May 7 & 8 - two days of amplified opportunities to donate to your favorite Washington nonprofit. Our Executive Director, Ashley Fosberg shared the story of RAVE and Seattle Sounders FC's Yesler Terrace Park playfield opening back in 2017 and how RAVE's 26 Fields by 2026 Initiative aims to bring more free playfields and free soccer programs to Washington - timed for World Cup 2026 and beyond. "We believe that play is not a privilege. It should be enjoyed by everyone, no matter their race, income status, location, language, gender identity. There should be no barriers to play."
