About us
Read Charlotte is a community initiative that unites educators, community partners, and families to improve children’s reading from birth to third grade. We don’t run programs. We are a capacity-building intermediary that supports local partners to apply evidence-based knowledge about effective reading instruction and interventions, high-quality execution, continuous improvement, and data analysis to improve reading outcomes. Read Charlotte is a public-private partnership administered by the Foundation For The Carolinas.

The school supply drive runs all month, and helps make sure every student has the tools they need to succeed and feel confident in the classroom this school year. From pencils and notebooks to backpacks and glue sticks, every donation makes an impact! We love seeing all the ways our community comes together, and are so grateful to have such an amazing partner in Morris Costumes!

We’re so proud to share that our team presented at the Carnegie Foundation’s 2024 Summit on Improvement in Education last week! Their presentation, “Using Improvement Science to Adapt Evidence-Based Interventions,” focused on the use of improvement science principles to develop our Queen City Readers tutoring tool. Our team looks forward to this conference each year, and learns so much from each session. Presenting was truly a full-circle moment! #CarnegieSummit24
