This year, Rebuilding Together Seattle celebrates 35 years as an organization. Formerly known as Christmas in April, we launched in 1989 with the support of volunteers from the Junior League of Seattle.🏡💚 We look forward to celebrating this milestone at our annual Night to Rebuild fundraiser this October! I’d like to introduce you to our newest WMFHA volunteer. We have ONE more day to take volunteers for our #rebuildingtogether day of service. On August 16th WMFHA member will come together to restore 2 Renton homes that are a health and safety risk. These elderly home owners are experiencing poverty and are not able to make these repairs themselves. Like Asher said… it’s just a good thing to do. We love having a positive impact and making a difference in our community. Our Seattle team recently wrapped up another volunteer project for a local resident with Rebuilding Together Seattle. Rebuilding Together Seattle serves low-income homeowners who are elderly, living with a disability, families with children or veterans in need – to repair homes, revitalize communities and rebuild lives. Our volunteers broke up into 4 crews; with each working on a different scope around the home. Our team completed the following projects: 🔨 Rebuilding the front porch to be level with the front door threshold 🔨 Rerouting the drains and gutters, adding new trim board along the exterior 🔨 Staining the back porch 🔨 Adding a handrail to the back and front porch 🔨 Yard work We can’t wait to return for another event with Rebuilding Together Seattle. #HowardSWright #Community #RebuildingTogether #RebuildingTogetherSeattle #PNW
