We're on a mission to end harassment - in all its forms.
About us
Right to Be is a global, people-powered movement to end harassment. We work together to understand the problem, ignite public conversations, and develop innovative strategies that ensure equal access to public spaces. We leverage the very spaces where harassment happens – from online to the streets – to have each other’s backs and build a world where we can all be who we are, wherever we are.

In an election year, journalists face immense pressure both online and offline, leading to increased risk of burnout and mental health challenges. To address these critical issues, PEN America has teamed up with the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) and the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) to host a free webinar series, U.S. Election Safety Summer. In the final webinar of the series, IWMF's Next Generation Safety Trainer Rosem Morton will focus on how journalists can navigate their mental health and practice self-care. She will delve into how trauma affects those in the field and present valuable resources, including the "Mental Health Guide for Journalists Facing Online Violence" released in 2022. Join us on Tuesday, July 30 from 12:00-1:30pm EDT, for the final workshop in the series. We cannot agree more with Tansy McNulty, MBA Founder of 1M4 Please follow them and the work they’re doing. To Sonya Massey and her loved ones, we are deeply sorry 💔
“If one really wishes to know how justice is administered in a country, one does not question the policemen, the lawyers, the judges, or the protected members of the middle class. One goes to the unprotected – those, precisely, who need the law’s protection most! – and listens to their testimony.” ~ James Baldwin No catchy caption. No music. Just sharing my heart. Later this week, I’ll share what we’re doing about it. To Sonya Massey & her loved ones, we (1M4) are so very sorry 💔 #1M4 #endpoliceviolence #civilrights #therightresponse #blackmentalhealthmatters #sonyamassey #socialjustice
