Big news, y'all! We made Inc. Magazine's Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest growing companies for the third year in a row! Riverbend is up in rankings this year, too: We're #3551 on the 2024 list! Our growth is a reflection of our hard working team and exceptional customers who invest in malt with a mission. Thanks to all of you for making this achievement possible.

Next up in our #CraftMaltMonth collaboration series, a Steam Beer (aka California Common) with our friends at Printshop Beer! We incorporated Avalon Pilsner, Double Kilned Munich, Crystal 50, and Great Chit in this faithfully designed classic. This one will rest for several weeks in their brand new stainless tanks and will be released in late September. We wrapped up the brew day with a “Meet the Maltster” event that introduced the individual malts to the audience along with some back story on our local grain economy. Stay tuned for details on the beer release.

#CraftMaltMonth is here! We've been having a blast getting ready for the festivities, crafting collaboration fundraisers for the Craft Maltsters Guild and sharing hot steep samples whenever we can. We also sat down with the Beer In Front podcast on their latest episode to talk all things Riverbend— from our humble roots and evolution during Asheville's craft beer boom, to custom and smoked malt, to our current work in the craft distilling landscape and Regenified™ certification. 𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑺𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒂 𝑫𝒂𝒚! Here's a post in celebration of South Carolina's thriving beer culture, featuring our awesome customers and Craft Malt Certified brewery The Southern Growl Beer Company! South Carolina's five regions (Upstate, Midlands, Upper Palmetto, Pee Dee, and the Lowcountry) boast more than 100 craft breweries, many of whom won awards at the recent U.S. Open Beer Championship. According to the Brewers Association, SC's craft beer industry had an 844 million in economic impact with 138,000 barrels produced in 2023. Cheers to beer in the Palmetto State! 🍻

The Craft Malt Month collaboration brew days are continuing at a fever pitch! For this latest effort, Raleigh restaurant and brewery Standard Beer + Food has teamed up with Durham ag nerds Fullsteam. Both are Craft Malt Certified by the Craft Maltsters Guild! Stay tuned for release information, and even more collaboration beers. #CraftMaltMonth

Craft Malt Month starts Sunday! Our friends at Outsider Brewing Company are kicking off the festivities on September 1st with an interactive brew day at Outsider Brewing in Asheville, NC. Watch how eight different malts, including varieties from us and Epiphany Craft Malt, transform from raw grains into the perfect profile for a smooth and crisp dark lager on their unique transparent brew system. This unique setup allows you to follow every step of the brewing process in real time, and this mash tun is typically full of North Carolina malt 🌾 Join us on Sunday and stay tuned to for more release information over the next few weeks!

We're back on the Bean to Barstool podcast, this time in their Bite Sized format— where host David Nilsen caught up for a few minutes with our Co-Founder Brian Simpson. Brian was first a guest on episode 09 in 2020. "We prize beers that are brewed locally, but where are the ingredients from? Can a beer be local if it isn’t grown locally? Craft Malt Month Collaboration Brew Alert! 📣⁠ ⁠ Our friends at The Southern Growl Beer Company and Fireforge Crafted Beer are brewing up a Roggenbeir using 100% Riverbend malt, including Base Camp, Carolina Rye, and Munich Rye. ⁠ ⁠ We can't wait to try their rendition of this historical German beer style features rye malt as a primary ingredient, rather than wheat.
