🏗️🌟 We’re proud to celebrate the opening of the Charlotte Rescue Mission’s (CRM) new Beaty Center for Transformation! This 73,221-square-foot facility, a joint venture between Rodgers and R.J. Leeper Construction, is now providing a safe space for men in our community to transform their lives. A key highlight of this project is the success of the workforce development program piloted during its construction. Launched in December 2022, this program, led by Rodgers, RJ Leeper, and CRM, has provided comprehensive skills training and direct-hire opportunities in the construction industry for CRM graduates. The program offers extensive instruction in essential trades such as HVAC, electrical work, drywall installation, and painting, ensuring participants receive top-notch training aligned with industry standards, effectively preparing them for the job market. We're proud to have placed 13 CRM graduates into careers in the construction industry, surpassing our goal of 10 placements. One of the most rewarding aspects of this initiative was the opportunity to work alongside a client who shares our mission—to build communities with care. Collaborating with CRM allowed us to align our goals and amplify our impact, creating a stronger, more cohesive effort to uplift and transform lives within our community. On June 7th, our summer interns and their mentors joined forces with the Roc Solid Foundation to sponsor a special build for a brave 3-year-old battling leukemia. Together, our team transformed his backyard into a playground paradise.  Seeing the new playset, the family was overjoyed and immediately got to business playing. “It was an unforgettable day filled with hard work, teamwork, and countless smiles. I think our efforts not only brought joy and hope but helped provide a safe haven for him and his family to heal and create cherished memories," said Betsy Treece, Training and Development Coordinator at Rodgers. Roc Solid’s Play it Forward program invites sponsor groups to build custom playsets in the backyards of kids fighting cancer. Led by Roc Solid build leaders, these are organized team-building events inviting sponsor groups to come together for a morning of volunteering. The playset is built in just a few hours, followed by a reveal to the child’s family. Thank you to the Roc Solid Foundation for connecting us with this family and giving us the opportunity to build a space where kids can do what they love most – play! #CommunityWithCare #OurPassionIsBuilding

The final beam was placed atop the Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital expansion project on Friday, a significant milestone that shows the community just how the hospital is growing to meet the needs of the surrounding community. The expansion project will double the number of beds from 50 to 100 and add 200,000 square feet of new or renovated space to the existing 116,000-square-foot facility. The expansion is on track to be finished in 2026 and will include more space in the Emergency Room, which will reduce waiting times and improve overall patient experience. The project also includes the expansion of Cardiac, Orthopaedics and Obstetrics services. The expansion also allows for inpatient dialysis services in addition to new features at the Medical Office Building, so patients can receive vital care close to home.
