Maria College, SUNY Cobleskill and Bassett Healthcare Network have partnered to revolutionize nursing education and strengthen the rural upstate New York workforce. Starting in January 2025, Maria College will expand its 16-month weekend Practical Nurse Certificate Program to the Cobleskill area. After passing the NCLEX exam, students will earn their Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential. Future plans include broadening Maria’s Andrea Lewis Siek School of Nursing program to offer existing associate and bachelor degrees in rural areas. Today we captured video and stills for Firefighters Association of the State of New York at the Fallen Firefighters Memorial Ceremony at the Empire State Plaza. FASNY President Eugene J. Perry Jr., joined by other leaders, honored 32 fallen firefighters. Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado, state officials, and the families of the fallen also paid tribute, laying a wreath at the memorial, which now bears 2,692 names. Dedicated in 1998, the memorial honors those who died in the line of duty, and the ceremony, held during Fire Prevention Week, also recognizes active firefighters protecting New Yorkers daily. #FASNY #VolunteerFirefighters #VolunteerFirefighter #Firefighter #FirstResponder #EMS

Now, leveraging technological advancements, the college is expanding its reach and student engagement through the new Maria VR Labs. This innovative platform immerses students in various scenarios, allowing them to practice with virtual patients, assess situations, and collaborate effectively.
