A heartfelt thank you to our September corporate partners MathWorks, ServiceNow, WSP, and State Farm for their dedication in building playhouses for veteran families and community organizations.🏡🌟 This month’s highlight was a special playhouse unveiling for JD, a young burn survivor, hosted in partnership with State Farm and Children's Burn Foundation. JD can’t wait to add more Minecraft stickers and toys to his themed playhouse! We are beyond grateful for your impact.

Building homes, communities, and hope since 1988
About us
San Diego Habitat for Humanity is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and serves San Diego County. Habitat programs are focused on creating homes for ownership by low-income families in need, offering a hand up, not a handout. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, they achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families. It is an autonomous 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It is governed locally, raises funds locally and builds locally. MISSION Seeking to put God’s love into action, San Diego Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Habitat was founded on the conviction that every man, woman, and child should have a simple, decent and affordable home to live in dignity and safety.

Happy 100th Birthday, President Carter!🎉 Since 1984, President Carter’s hands-on dedication to building a world where everyone has a decent place to live has inspired generations of Habitat volunteers. He and the late Mrs. Carter have worked alongside nearly 104,000 volunteers in 14 countries, building, renovating, and repairing over 4,390 homes.🏠 Today, we celebrate not only his milestone birthday but also his enduring legacy of service and compassion. Thank you, President Carter, for your continued commitment to making a difference! #affordablehomeownership #sdhabitatforhumanity #legacyofservice

Shoutout to our amazing friends at AppFolio for rolling up their sleeves and helping us build 4 planter boxes at their headquarters!🌱 These beautiful boxes are headed to a Veteran Build family, and we couldn’t have done it without their incredible volunteers. Together, we’re building stronger communities, one project at a time!💪

San Diego Gives is a just a couple days away on September 5! This day is a powerful reminder of how our community can unite to make a significant impact. At San Diego Habitat for Humanity, we've been partnering with local families for over 35 years, building affordable, stable housing across the county. But the challenge remains: only 11% of households in San Diego County can afford a typical single-family home. Will you join us in changing those odds? This year, we’re especially grateful to our corporate partners and their employees who are already making double the impact through their employee matching programs. A huge shout-out to Sempra, HP, Intuit, Bristol Myers Squibb, Salesforce, Microsoft, Illumina, Gartner, PlayStation, and San Diego Gas & Electric for their continued support. Your generosity is helping families like Zach and Jessica’s, who recently moved into their new home in Escondido, achieve their greatest accomplishment of providing a safe, stable environment where their son can thrive. As we approach San Diego Gives, we encourage you to make a gift, and then check to see if your company has a matching program. Your gift will have double the impact, to help us expand our affordable homeownership programs and preserve existing homes through critical repairs. Donate now at https://lnkd.in/gAgiXhej, and together, let’s make San Diego Gives an opportunity to build a brighter future for San Diego, one home at a time.
