"Nothing has changed since Sandy Hook." We’ve heard it many times, but that's simply not true. Several families united to launch Sandy Hook Promise the month after the tragic school shooting. Since then, we have successfully written and driven the passage of 3 federal laws under 3 administrations. And our SAVE Promise Clubs are now the largest student-led anti-violence organization in America. Read on for more life-saving changes and join us to continue making progress by texting PROMISE to 79775. #HonorWithAction #NeverForget #ProtectOurKids #EndGunViolence #SandyHookPromise

About us
Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to end school shootings and create a culture change that prevents violence and other harmful acts that hurt children. Through its life-saving, evidence-informed “Know the Signs” prevention programs, SHP educates and empowers youth and adults to recognize, intervene, and get help for individuals who may be socially isolated and/or at risk of hurting themselves or others. Through nonpartisan policy and partnerships, SHP advances gun safety, youth mental health, and violence prevention education at the state and federal levels that protect all children from gun violence in their schools, homes, and communities. SHP is led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. Make the Promise at www.sandyhookpromise.org.

Our kids are too young to drive, vote, drink alcohol, serve in the military, or legally purchase a firearm under federal law. Research shows that they are biologically more vulnerable and susceptible to advertising, and they’re more likely to engage in risky behavior. Yet, they are receiving deceptive, aggressive messages from gun manufacturers through marketing loopholes, social media influencers, and video games. Gun owners and non-gun owners alike can agree that kids should NOT be the targets of firearm marketing, especially content designed for adults that should only be viewed by adults. This weekend, Nicole Hockley, co-founder and co-CEO of Sandy Hook Promise and mother of Dylan, who was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy will share insights on transforming pain into purpose to combat social isolation. By drawing on their personal experiences with race, poverty, immigration status, learning differences, and gender identity, these students will learn to create safer and more inclusive communities. "Empowering young people as agents of change is crucial for creating safer schools and communities. Social isolation is a public health epidemic, but together we can stop it," said Hockley. Through programs like Sandy Hook Promises' Start with Hello and Beyond Differences' No One Eats Alone®, these youth leaders will return to their communities equipped to make a difference. #BeyondDifferences #BuildBelonging #SandyHookPromise #ProtectOurKids #YouthActivism #NationalTeenBoard #SHPAction

We are so thankful for the support of our valued partners who made the Sandy Hook Promise Champions Gala such a big success earlier this month. This event highlighted the bipartisan strategies to prevent gun violence and our holistic approach to ending school shootings. Thank you to our Say Something Sponsors: Centene Corporation, Charter Communications, CVS Health, Comcast, General Dynamics, HCA Healthcare, and Meta. To date, more than 23 million people nationwide have participated in the organization’s proven “Know the Signs” programs, which train youth and adults to recognize warning signs of violence and when and how to get help. #SandyHookPromise #EndGunViolence #ProtectOurKids
