Employee Spotlight! Please meet Julia Kysar, our Senior Cost Accountant! What do you do here? I am the Senior Cost Accountant. I spend my day working on all things inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) and whatever other projects come my way. How long have you worked here? I’ve worked here for 2 years. I started in July of 2022. What is your favorite item in your home? My favorite item in my home is my Ninja blender. It’s probably one of the coolest inventions. I can shred carrots, mix cookie dough, make salsa, and puree strawberries all with one machine. What are you watching or listening to currently? I’m not currently listening to anything, but one of the most recent audio books I listened to was “The Memory Keeper’s Daughter” by Kim Edwards. Tell us about a time when you turned lemons into lemonade. A time that I turned lemons into lemonade was when I begrudgingly went fishing with my husband for the first time. I learned that, unlike my hometown in MN, you can find some really pretty scenery at the lakes here in the PNW! Now I don’t mind tagging along with him as long as there will be a pretty mountain or something cool to look at when we get there What are you currently working on? Currently I’m working on the inventory transition from Pixior to GXO. Since there’s so many moving parts and manual processes, I’m working on getting all our ducks in a row for July month end. What is your favorite product? My favorite Schoolhouse product is the Popcorn Grid Coverlet. That’s the most recent purchase I’ve made and I love how it is the perfect weight for summer! It brings back memories of being a kid every time I eat one.

Employee Spotlight! Tori Shriver - Associate Manager, Sourcing & Product Development What do you do here? I am the Associate Manager of Product Development for Textiles and Decor. I work with our overseas supplier partners to make sure our designers' beautiful visions can come to life! How long have you worked here? I started in November 2023, so coming up on one year. What is your favorite item in your home? I thrifted an antique credenza that I stripped down and refinished. It was the perfect addition to our dining room when we moved to the PNW. Also, our Roomba. If you’re a pet parent, you get it. What are you watching or listening to currently? Currently binging Love Island UK (guilty pleasure) and have been listening to FJK on repeat these days. What are you currently working on?  I’m currently working on our Fall25 developments. Most items are in the sampling phase so we are starting to receive them for review, and it’s always so exciting to see everyone’s hard work come together for the first time! What is your favorite product? I bought the Shelburne Cotton Coverlet in Natural for our guestroom now converted office and it brightens up my day whenever I’m in there!
