In a few hours, Sharon Fitzgerald DiPaolo, Esquire, CRE® will be advocating for the PA legislature to replace the Allegheny County “base year system” with a triennial countywide reassessment system. Allegheny County is the only one in the state using a base year system. A hearing will be held Monday, July 15 at 1 p.m. Register below to attend via Zoom. The hearing will feature three panels of discussion that will highlight the issues with Pennsylvania’s property reassessment system. According to statistics, 50 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties have not done a reassessment in the past 15 years, the last one done in Allegheny County was in 2012. #PropertyTaxes #CommercialRealEstate #PittsburghRealEstate

Allegheny County Council last week moved the 2025 appeal deadline up to October 1, 2024. Allegheny County now joins the rest of Pennsylvania counties by having a prospective appeal deadline. This move is good for all – so that taxpayers and taxing bodies alike can budget for the next tax year.
