Philanthropy California Responds to the Line Fire, Bridge Fire, and Airport Fire Amidst the increasing wildfires in California, Governor Newsom declared a state of emergency and assigned personnel and resources to combat the fires and their impacts. The Line Fire alone has burned over 20,000 acres, forced thousands of evacuations, and caused significant environmental damage. Meanwhile, the Airport Fire and Bridge Fire continue to affect California. Apart from the Philanthropy California Disaster Response page, the Inland Empire Community Foundation has launched its Disaster Relief Fund for San Bernardino and Riverside Counties to support relief and recovery and to build lasting resilience. Contributions can be made to the fund at https://buff.ly/4gqB14f With support from The California Wellness Foundation, the Inland SoCal United Way also activated a fund to help replace lost items, pay for hotel stays, make deposits on new housing, or other fire-related needs. SCG is excited to announce our reimagined two-day Family Philanthropy Conference, taking place on December 6, 2024 and March 6, 2025! We invite you to register today: https://buff.ly/3AYkLHy Over the last few years, family foundations have engaged in a unique balancing act: adapting creatively and swiftly to an ever-changing world while navigating the internal dynamics present within their families and organizations. Many family funders find themselves increasingly serving as a bridge between many priorities, from succession planning to managing family conflict to strengthening their grantee relationships. SCG's Family Philanthropy Conference, Bridging Possibilities, will explore how family foundations today are modeling effective collaboration as they bring together different perspectives and strategies to find common ground and move our collective work forward. Our incredible lineup of family philanthropy leaders and partners will host a series of family-focused conversations grounded in deepening our relationships, commitments, and investments to be catalysts for change. This year, SCG has reimagined this year's signature family convening to become a two-day event, now taking place on December 6, 2024, and March 6, 2025. We believe these new dates will better align with our member's schedules and create more opportunities for our community to learn, connect, and build together. We highly encourage members to attend both days, but note that attending Day 1 is not a prerequisite for attending Day 2.
