In #Italy, our Founding Board Member, David Reid, in his remit as NOV’s CTO, discussed with Fmr. U.S. Secretary of State, John Kerry, the pivotal role that oil and gas manufacturers play in advancing the energy transition. This preciously occurred at the Global Energy Transition Congress and Exhibition. The aforementioned aligns with the "Energy Basket" approach of the Society for Low Carbon Technologies, which adopts a holistic approach to the prudent utilization of energy, rather than pitting one form of energy against another. Additionally, Kerry participated in a fireside chat about tackling the world's energy dilemma, highlighting the importance of #bringing great minds together and collaborating to execute successful solutions, as well as the necessity for increased engagement from oil and gas. #EnergyTransition #LowCarbon #Leaders

We are proud to introduce Alessandra Simone, PhD as our incoming Vice Chair. The Paris Agreement's organizing body, via the United Nations, features her achievements as an #author in a seminal book she published in 2009 on Carbon Capture Storage (CCS). She further enhanced this with real-world experience by deploying the first carbon CCS project in the Western Hemisphere via Canada's Quest project during her tenure at Shell. In London, our Chairman of the Board, Fernando C. Hernandez, moderated at the Carbon Capture and Storage Association’s pivotal conference alongside talented panelists noted below, who contributed essential insights on the session's theme of "#CCUS in a Low-Carbon Products Market." Collectively, they explored voluntary and mandatory product standards and their place in the wider context of decarbonization. Building on our Brazilian success, we are expanding our South American outreach to Uruguay as an official Supporting Organization for the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) pivotal “Energy Summit 2024,” which focuses on security, strategy, and transition. This event counts with key involvement from the likes of Chevron, Apache Corporation, Shell, and ANCAP. In Lahore, Pakistan, the Society for Low Carbon Technologies and the World Times Institute (WTI) launched the Annual Central Superior Service (CSS) Scholarship Program, which awarded Muhammad Mussadiq its inaugural scholarship. This was overseen by our Founding Board Member Syed Rizvi, alongside Wania Nabeel with the WTI. As a global organization, this Pakistani scholarship follows the SFLCT's scholarship donation to the Texas A&M University Galveston Campus in the U.S. Moreover, Muhammad, with his relentless ambition, was one of more than 330 candidates who applied and ultimately received this scholarship.   This #scholarship will bolster Muhammad's preparation for the prestigious Pakistan Civil Services Examination, and if he passes, he can join Pakistan's policy-making domain via one of the 12 occupational groups, such as Pakistan Administrative Services, Foreign Service, for example. #CommunityEngagement #Future #Altruism

From the moment our panel session on "Energy Grid Protection" commenced to its conclusion, the vibrancy and passion of attendees was full in swing as depicted in this post. The conversations and interaction were dynamic as they were not only focused on low carbon, but also the importance of taking a holistic approach to harnessing the world of #energies. Such approach is one that the Society for Low Carbon Technologies categorically advocates for, as our philosophy is not to pit one form of energy against another. During our panel session, which included participation from NOV, Baker Hughes, Vallourec, SLB, SPE NA via Chevron, and the Society for Low Carbon Technologies (SFLCT) we delivered on our mission to advance societal causes of key importance. For this reason, the SFLCT's Community Outreach Director—Kattya Lorena Distefano, and our Treasurer—Michelle Juarez, presented scholarship funds to Maya Anderson, a Marine Engineering student at Texas A&M University Galveston Campus. The foregoing demonstrates the SFLCT's focus to augmenting our biosphere via low carbon technologies, as well as our dedication to enhancing the communities in which we operate. #NonProfit #Altruism #LowCarbon
