Since 2002, the The Library of Congress National Book Festival hosts a Roadmap to Reading where visitors can discover literary heritage from all 56 states and U.S. territories. Every Center for the Book affiliate selects a youth and adult book as a “Great Read from Great Places” to represent their state’s local literary heritage. The South Carolina Center for the Book 2024 Great Read Selections are The Parker Inheritance by Varian Johnson and The Big Game is Every Night by Robert Maynor. Varian Johnson and Robert Maynor will be highlighted at the 2024 National Book Festival on August 24, 2024, in Washington, DC.
