Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) recently hosted a forum at Spaulding with Home Base to spotlight the need for advancing care and research on traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and blast overpressure injuries in the military. Experts from the United States Department of Defense and Home Base discussed the long-term health impacts, including mental health, cancer and chronic disease, that many service members face after repeated blast exposure. “Congress has an obligation to use every tool we have to give service members the care they deserve and continue to study the long-term effects of exposure to blast overpressure,” says Senator Warren.
