Start Corporation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1984. Our Mission is to promote opportunities, which enhance the self-sufficiency of people to empower them to live and function independently. We offer Primary Care, Behavioral Health, Community Based Services, Veterans Services, Crisis Care and Homeless Outreach/Coordinated Entry throughout the state of Louisiana. Currently, we operate five Federally Qualified Health Centers and are excited to add two more this year. Start Corporation received 3 Year CARF Accreditation for Case Management/Services Coordination, Community Housing, and Community Integration. Serving the community, meeting people where they are and providing resources to help enhance their lives are all things we strive for daily. We are proud to serve communities throughout Louisiana. On May 9th we hosted a "Community Collaboration" Event and Resource Fair with Keller Williams Realty Bayou Partners for Mental Health Awareness Month. It also was "Red Day" across the country for KW. We had so many amazing organizations participate and share the services they provide daily to the community. Also, KW provided some much needed "Love" to our Veterans Shelter. They stained columns, picked up debris, shoveled mud and even gave the residents a new picnic table to enjoy. Did I mention they cooked yummy hamburgers and hotdogs? Thanks again to everyone who made this event a success! We wanted to share a little update on how things are going at the Homeless Day Center in Houma. Today we were blessed to even have Elic Bolden providing barber services.
