SustainED Leaders partners with districts and schools to provide professional learning to leaders and teachers focused on building their instructional leadership capacity. Each session is grounded in research and evidence-based practices with opportunities for reflection and application to participants’ current role. Program Director Naima Blakes and Leadership Development Director Marina Guerra facilitated professional learning for Assistant Principals in Irving ISD focused on Data Driven Instruction. The APs started the session by reflecting on the current state of their campus data practices according to a DDI Implementation Rubric. Participants deepened their understanding of the Keys to DDI - Assessment, Analysis, and Action, and engaged in authentic practice to strengthen their facilitation of Weekly Data Meetings. Finally, leaders improved their skills in analyzing campus data through a root cause analysis process and the creation of action plans to address gaps in school-wide instructional systems. Our team coaches and develops leaders and teachers to implement research and evidence-based practices that accelerate student learning and growth. Leadership Development Director Tamara Philips supports leaders and teachers at McShan Elementary School in Dallas ISD with their implementation of Eureka Math and Amplify Reading. During her campus visit, she partnered with Assistant Principal Butler to engage in a deep analysis of interim assessment data. They used the data to identify opportunities to reteach standards with low mastery and planned targeted intervention for struggling students.
