Campaigns mixed with social media can create a season of stress. That's why I'm pumping the breaks on scrolling and opting for more self-care time. Long walks outside with my pup and breathwork are key components of my stress relief routine. What healthy things do you do to cope with stress? Today is R U OK? Day, and it serves as a reminder to check in with those around us, have meaningful conversations, and listen with care. Our team got together today for a fika — a Swedish term that means to take a break and enjoy a hot beverage and a snack. It was a great opportunity for team members across all departments to socialize without talking about work. We connected over the hobbies and activities that boost our mental health including gardening, mountain biking, cold plunging, and reading. We talked about our pets, fall plans, and strategies to overcome procrastination. And most importantly, we held space to listen to one another. This day serves as a great reminder that every day can be an opportunity to ask “Are you okay?” How can you check in with a colleague today? #RUOKDay2024

This article from NPR shows the reality many therapists face as they try to accept insurance. “Some spent hours a week chasing down the meager payments, listening to hold music and sending faxes into the abyss.” At Tava, we have built a platform that works for therapists so they can accept insurance without all the paperwork and spend more time focusing on their clients. Here’s how we’re making a difference: 🦀 No clawbacks In this article, nearly 60 providers reported leaving networks after insurers delayed payments or tried to claw them back. At Tava, when carriers make a costly mistake our provider’s bottom line is off the hook. We handle the rest. 💰 Guaranteed pay  Our providers never wait on claims or the insurance carrier's schedule. Just submit documentation and get paid bi-weekly. ✅ Multi-State Credentialing  Tava enrolls providers in national carriers for every state they are licensed in making it easier to see more insurance clients faster. Today is #WorldSuicidePreventionDay and it’s essential to remember that mental health professionals, too, are at risk of burnout, compassion fatigue, and even suicidal ideation. Therapists face unique pressures in their daily work—especially in a predominantly virtual setting. And it’s crucial for them to have the time and space to integrate proactive and restorative care strategies into their routines. Mental healthcare is complicated, we make it simple for employers & their team | Manager, Partnership Development @ Tava Health

“Proper preparation prevents poor performance” My father used to tell my brothers and me this all the time growing up— and still does to this day. As a kid, I always took this as making sure you studied for a test or practiced your speech before presenting. But now it has such greater meaning to me and truly applies to every area of my life. This is something we are constantly thinking about at Tava Health 💭 ➡️How can we ensure employees get proactive mental health support before challenges grow larger? ➡️How can we best equip HR leaders with resources to make their jobs easier when it comes to managing employee mental health? This is the future of mental health care — proactive vs reactive. And this many times starts with preparing for those rainy days 🌧️ One of our most popular resources employers use to proactively support employee mental health is Tava’s free customizable crisis response plan. I’ll share a link below in the comments if you’re interested in customizing your own. #workplacementalhealth

    Simplifying Mental Healthcare for Employers

September is #SuicidePreventionMonth Unfortunately suicide has become way too common. Most people have been affected by suicide in some fashion throughout their life. During my time in school, 3 of my classmates took their own life. I didn’t know some of them well, but I think about them often and wonder about the lives they could have led. It’s those type of thoughts that led me to wanting to work for Tava and support people’s access to mental health. According to the National Alliance for Mental Illness, suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for people 10 to 14 years old and the 12th leading cause of death in the US overall. I remember growing up and a parent saying the amount of suicides, self-harm, and depression amongst kids my age was way more frequent compared to older generations. The sad thing is the numbers have only continued to go up. It’s always been interesting to me that there’s still a stigma around mental health, and then a tragedy happens and people recognize the true need for improving mental health for about 2 weeks. After that mental health once again fades into the background. There is a mental health crisis! We should not only focus on mental health after a crisis. As we look to be more proactive in how we support others and lower the amount of suicides amongst our young people and adults, there’s a few things we can do right now. Below are some resources from a variety of sources including: Tava Health, NAMI, and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. I encourage you to read it, because it might just help someone you know!
