Taurus and his family moved into Family Gateway, unsure of what the future held. One week later, our Birthday Enthusiasts gave him more than just a party - they ignited hope. Taurus celebrated his 18th birthday with us, receiving a gift card and earbuds. His eyes lit up as he shared, "How did you know this is exactly what I needed? I'm going to use this to pay for my books for my college classes!" From that moment, we began brainstorming how to further support Taurus in his academic journey. Our Birthday Enthusiasts helped him pay for classes, gifted him a calculator, and started discussions about helping him fulfill his dream of attending a four-year university. Our parties with The Birthday Party Project are more than celebrations - they create meaningful connections that open the door to ongoing support and community building.

This is our WHY. 🎈 It's National Homelessness Awareness Month and there's a harsh reality we want to share that our children are facing. Did you know that 4.2 million youth and young adults will experience homelessness this year? This includes: 2.2 million children receiving temporary housing in shelters 2 million youth and young adults finding relief in shelters, cars, or staying outside Imagine facing constant stress, food insecurity, and the social stigma of not having a stable home. These struggles impact mental health, often overshadowing the capacity to experience joy and positivity. We exist to change that. We believe that JOY is possible, even in tough times. We celebrate children and youth, ages 1-21, in foster care, youth shelters, and transitional housing, ensuring they feel valued and celebrated. Before October slips away, I want to take a minute to celebrate two of our truly remarkable Party Coordinators at The Birthday Party Project - who also happen to be Breast Cancer Survivors. This disease hits extremely close to home for my family as well, so it means even more to watch Loni Norwood & Jacqueline Lukasik (LaFache) stand courageous in their battles.
