On this historic election day, we stand united as leaders of California’s leading philanthropic organizations—unwavering in our commitment to our communities, no matter the outcome. Freedom. Hope. Equity. Opportunity. These are California’s values – these are America’s values. They course through our bustling city streets, echo across our abundant fields, rise with our ocean waves, and pulse within our people. We stand in solidarity with our frontline partners and pledge to invest boldly to drive racial justice, advance prosperity, and sustain California as a global force - not despite our diversity but because of it. We renew our promise to protect and defend our people, our rights, our environment, and our progress. We commit to deploy our resources, speaking up for what is right and speaking out against injustice. The Golden State has weathered dark storms of division before, as has our nation, but we have always come back stronger, persistent in our pursuit of progress. Together we will not only safeguard the California Dream, the American Dream - we will redefine it so that it lives up to its promise and potential, for all of us. We make this shared commitment to progress with California Black Freedom Fund, California Community Foundation, The California Endowment, College Futures Foundation, East Bay Community Foundation, Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, The James Irvine Foundation, Latino Community Foundation, Liberty Hill Foundation, San Francisco Foundation, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Tipping Point Community and Weingart Foundation. #UnitedforCalifornia #CAValues #HealthJustice #RacialEquity #PhilanthropyForChange

The newly released 2024 State of Philanthropy Tech survey report reveals significant developments in the technology environment, practices, and perceptions across the global philanthropic community since the last survey in 2022. As the only comprehensive survey focused on technology in philanthropy, it offers valuable insights into how grantmaking organizations are leveraging technology to advance their missions, deepen their impact and manage risk. Special thanks to Cal Wellness' Amber López for her service on the Technology Association of Grantmakers’ Survey Committee! Read the report and learn more: https://lnkd.in/g_FBSqpu

Proud of our board member Virginia Hedrick announcing this exciting news for culturally responsive healthcare in California! #HealthEquity #CulturallyResponsiveHealthcare California Consortium for Urban Indian Health California Health Care Foundation California Department of Health Care Services
Exciting news for culturally responsive healthcare in California! 🎉 Medi-Cal is taking a groundbreaking step by expanding coverage to include traditional healing practices for substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. California is one of just four states granted a waiver by CMS to broaden access to culturally-based SUD care. Virginia Hedrick, Executive Director of the California Consortium for Urban Indian Health, announced this transformative change in a recent DHCS video. This move represents a significant stride towards more inclusive, effective health care for all Californians. By incorporating traditional healing practices, Medi-Cal is not just treating substance use disorders—it's honoring diverse cultural approaches to wellness and recovery. This is a crucial step in addressing health disparities and ensuring that treatment resonates with patients' cultural backgrounds. We're eager to see how this change will positively impact SUD treatment outcomes and overall health equity in our state. What are your thoughts on this development?
