July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month! In 2008, the U.S. House of Representatives first designated the observance as “Bebe Moore National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month” in honor of the African American novelist’s groundbreaking work to change the way we approach mental health in underserved communities. Today, racial and ethnic minorities continue to face barriers to mental health care, including cultural stigma, lack of access to culturally competent care, and systemic inequalities. These challenges can exacerbate mental health issues, making awareness, education, and advocacy all the more crucial. The #DCGTeam develops mental health outreach campaigns that do just that on behalf of our federal government clients. Join us in raising awareness about mental health equity and inclusivity. Over the past month, DCG produced a series of social media posts for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to participate in Child Abuse Prevention Month. Online gaming and social media platforms are a common tool for predators to contact and groom young victims. DHS provides resources for parents and caretakers to recognize the dangers and to teach youth about online safety. Together, we can create safe online spaces and nurturing environments for our young ones. Blog post: https://lnkd.in/gpTX3-CE #ChildAbusePrevention #ProtectOurChildren #BlueCampaign #CAPM #DHS
