Haskell was proud to be the presenting sponsor of the recent AIA Jacksonville 2024 Design Awards Gala, and we’re even more proud that three of our esteemed team members were honored by our hometown chapter! Marjorie Weibe-Reed AIA, NCARB, NCIDQ, CSI, Specifications Manager for our Design Management & Technology team was one of three recipients of AIA Jacksonville President’s Recognition. Weibe-Reed’s honor, bestowed at the President’s discretion, acknowledged her leadership in promoting and representing the Florida Architects Political Action Committee (FAPAC) by creating the AIA Jacksonville Clay Shoot, a fundraiser that has earned AIA Jacksonville the Leader of the PAC trophy in two of the last three years. Christopher Flagg, FASLA, Vice President and AE Operations Principal in Public Facilities Design, received the Linda Mack Award, which goes annually to an individual in the architectural community whose outstanding drawing ability, rendering talent or artistic endeavors enhances the promotion of architecture to the community. A talented watercolorist and urban sketcher, Flagg is a founder of the Jacksonville Urban Sketchers. Clyde Moore III, AIA ACHA, Project Principal for Healthcare Design, was honored with the Henry John Klutho Award, given each year to recognize a lifelong commitment to design excellence, advancement of the profession and the enhancement of the built environment. Klutho was one of Jacksonville’s most talented and prolific architects, creating numerous works that remain significant to the City’s architectural fabric. In a project that promotes safer, more sustainable urban mobility, The Haskell Company's Design-Build team is leading the expansion of the Tampa Riverwalk, enhancing connectivity between the city’s western neighborhoods and the Hillsborough River. The project integrates multi-use trails, protected intersections, and living shorelines to promote walkability, bicycle safety, and environmental sustainability—core aspects of our work in Tampa. In timely support of this initiative, Haskell recently participated as a bicycle sponsor in Tampa’s World Car-Free Event. Partnering with the University of South Florida’s Institute of Transportation Engineers and Bike Club members, we helped spotlight alternative, eco-friendly transportation options that reduce car dependency in the area. This collaboration aligns perfectly with our ongoing efforts to foster safer, more accessible streets for everyone.
