It was an honour to deliver a keynote speech on the State of the Rule of Law in Asia Pacific at the Asia Pacific Mediation Forum (APMF) in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, discussing the critical role of the environmental rule of law in tackling the climate crisis. I am pleased to see the commitment of the Chief Justice of PNG, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of PNG to strengthen the rule of law by participating in the WJP Rule of Law Index and organising national multi-stakeholder forums. This collaboration is essential for fostering the rule of law improvements even in challenging circumstances. A special thank you to Chief Justice Sir Gimuma Salika, Minister of Justice Hon. Pila Niningi, Deputy Chief Justice Ambeng Kadakasi, APMF President Prof. Dale Bagshaw, President of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association (CLA) Peter Maynard, CLA Council Member David Denniston, World Justice Project, and the dedicated organizing team for making this event memorable in a country that speaks 800 languages. #RuleOfLaw #APMF #EnvironmentalLaw #ClimateCrisis
