In the aftermath of disasters like Hurricanes Helene and Milton, safeguarding your community starts with staying informed. Misinformation can spread rapidly, and it is important to rely on verified sources. Here’s how you can help: 🔶Identify Reliable Information: Ensure any updates you receive come from credible sources. 🔶 Share from Trusted Sources: Only circulate information trusted organizations have confirmed and shared. 🔶 Discourage Rumors: If you encounter unverified information, advise others to avoid sharing it. Hurricane Milton is growing as it moves closer to the west coast of Florida, with maximum sustained winds of 130 mph. The storm's intensity is expected to weaken due to strong southwest shear and dry air, but it remains a major hurricane as it approaches landfall. Milton is moving north-northeast at 16 mph and is predicted to turn east-northeast overnight. Due to potential wobbles, the exact landfall location remains uncertain. A Storm Surge Warning has been ongoing for the west-central coast of the Florida Peninsula, with forecasts indicating a life-threatening surge that could reach heights of 10 feet or more. This surge poses a severe risk to life and property, particularly in low-lying coastal areas. Residents still in the storm’s path should follow emergency management guidelines closely and monitor for any updates from NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration. #HurricaneMilton #FloridaStrong #HurricanePreparedness

Hurricane Milton has regained Category 5 strength, with maximum sustained winds of 165 mph. Milton is currently moving east-northeast at 9 mph. It is anticipated to turn northeastward later tonight, impacting the west-central coast of Florida by Wednesday night before moving over the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday. This is a highly dangerous and serious situation. Residents of Florida should brace for potentially life-threatening conditions. Devastating hurricane-force winds are anticipated throughout the Florida Peninsula. The storm surge along the west-central coast of Florida could reach over 10 feet. If you are in a Storm Surge Warning area, heed any evacuation orders from local officials immediately. Any preparations must be finalized tonight, including securing property and readying for prolonged power outages. According to NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, there will likely not be enough time to evacuate if waiting to leave on Wednesday. Share updates with your friends and family to improve their safety and preparedness. Our team is on standby and ready to support emergency teams and the people of Florida impacted by Hurricane Milton. #HurricaneMilton #ExtremeWeather #FloridaStrong
