🌍 TIPS4PED: Empowering Local Communities for Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) 🌍 At TIPS4PED, cities, districts, buildings, and user needs are placed at the heart of the mission, recognising the unique challenges and opportunities each local context presents. To ensure alignment with local stakeholders, they recently established local Focus Groups in Turin, Cork, Kozani, and Budapest’s Kőbánya district. These groups hosted workshops to identify key stakeholders and their priorities, needs, and capabilities in achieving PEDs. The workshops brought together a diverse range of stakeholders from various sectors to address shared challenges and opportunities. Participants provided valuable insights into their communities’ expectations, such as the functionalities most desired for the Integrated Assessment Platform (IAP), a digital tool co-designed to simulate and evaluate PED interventions. These initial workshops confirmed the local needs and challenges, setting the stage for the next steps in the TIPS4PED project. They also revealed underrepresented stakeholders, such as philanthropic organisations, banks, real estate investors, data analysts, and mobility providers, whose involvement will be crucial. An important aspect of the TIPS4PED project is #stakeholderengagement! In September, our four partner cities each hosted a local Focus Group to engage with local stakeholders in the design of the Integrated Assessment Platform (IAP) that will form the basis of the TIPS4PED Digital Twins. Various insights were gathered from across the groups and compiled into a comprehensive report for the TIPS4PED consortium to refer to going forward. Congratulations to TIPS4PED Lighthouse city torinoeuprojects for being awarded first place in the European Commission's iCapital awards! Turin has been recognised for the efforts being made to tackle present and future challenges faced by urban areas. The city is playing exactly this role as our Lighthouse city within the project helping to develop #positiveenergydistricts using #digitaltwins for a #climateneutral future.

Last week in Barcelona, the project partners came together for a series of interactive workshops and progress updates on the separate activities underway to enable #positiveenergydistrict development using #digitaltwins. The second General Assembly was hosted by FACTUAL, on the sidelines of the Smart City Expo World Congress, and marked the 1/4 point in the project's progress. There was a lot to update each other on!
