  • September is National Suicide Prevention Month This month, we honor the lives lost to suicide, support those who have faced suicidal thoughts, and stand with the families and communities deeply affected by suicide loss. It’s a time to raise awareness, encourage informed conversations about suicide prevention, and share resources that offer hope and healing. TAPS provides support and tools for those impacted by suicide. Our Suicide Prevention & Postvention Toolkit is a valuable resource for sharing and educating others on these critical issues. Additionally, our website offers comprehensive resources for survivors and caregivers navigating the journey of loss. Explore our toolkit at taps.org/suicide/toolkit and find support at taps.org/suicide. Together, we can make a difference.

  • On this Grief Awareness Day, we honor the resilience of every heart touched by loss. In a world where grief and love are deeply intertwined, we're reminded of the strength found in our human connections. To every family who has felt the weight of an empty chair at the dinner table, and to every tear shed in silent moments—you are seen, and you are not alone. At TAPS, we believe that every heartbeat carries a story, and we've made it our mission to ensure no one carries their story alone. When the weight feels heavy, let us be the anchor you lean on. Renowned grief counselor and author Alan Wolfelt reminds us that "Grief never ends, but it changes. It's a passage, not a place to stay." For those navigating this journey, seeking a haven, or reaching out for a comforting hand, we're always here. For unwavering support, resources, or a safe space to share your journey, connect with us anytime at 800.959.TAPS (8277) or visit us online at taps.org.

  • 🌟 Last weekend, a few TAPS surviving children had the unforgettable experience of visiting with Olympian and gold medalist Torri Huske! Torri first connected with this military family in December, when they enjoyed a fun-filled day swimming together. After her return from Paris, she invited them to her home, creating even more cherished memories. Not only did Torri share her inspiring Olympic journey, but she also let the kids hold her medals—a moment of pure joy and inspiration. As a special keepsake, she gifted them a poster from her medal stand, a beautiful symbol of her bond with our military families. A huge thank you to Torri for your continued kindness and for making a difference in the lives of these young survivors and their mom. Your generosity and patriotism inspire us all! 💙 🇺🇸 USA Swimming LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games
