What would we do without our incredible and compassionate Nurse Navigators? We're so happy to be able to shine a light on caregivers like UMass Memorial Health - Harrington's Lori Gamelli during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Meet Lori Gamelli, an Oncology Nurse Navigator at the Cancer Center at UMass Memorial Health - Harrington. "From a young age, I had a strong desire to help others and wanted to be in the medical field. After high school, I chose a different career path in the corporate world, but my heart was never in it. Always questioning the 'what ifs'. It wasn't until I had my children that I decided Nursing was where my heart truly was. I can honestly say that I love my job as Nurse Navigator and my Cancer Center family. My favorite part is working closely with the patients, developing strong connections and making a difference in their lives. I don't know that I can pick just one memorable moment because there have been many but one does stick out. I received a beautiful Thank You card from a patient's family thanking me for the care I gave their father. It's the little things that stick out for me I love working at Umass Memorial Health Harrington and the small community feel it brings. When I am not working I can be seen spending time with my family, friends, and two dogs." You inspire us with the work you do, Lori! Thank you for being an amazing caregiver and person. #MyUMassMemorialMark #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth
